It is what it says on the tin ( or rag bag ) RADIO NEWCASTLE, whats in a name everything imo. Stopped listening to it years ago , the thing that finally did it was the phone ins, seemed to be selected to put us in a bad light wherever possible. Prydy , Barnsey , et al, a truly sickening insult to NORTH EAST sport imo. We deserve so much better, its criminal.
Prydy hates us, any chance he gets he slags us off with a pretend chuckle, to make us feel, its all tongue in cheek. next week we should all ring in to get Marco chucked off.
Do you not think that was because your OP was unclear? These "" doodahs were missing either side of the word we.
I think we all apart from Gordon, that is ,make grammatical errors from time to time if it weren't for spell check my posts would be unreadable. For what its worth I stopped listening to Total Crap a long time ago and tuned in to The Legends round about this time, listening to the other half of the "G Force", a gentleman who also incidentally also hails from Teesside and also knew his stuff.
I listened to the phone in yesterday on the way home from work and Kieran Brady was on. He literally called out TM for being dour and unambitious in his interviews. He reckons TM doesn't really want promotion this season. TM said in an interview that he doesn't get carried away with anything cos if we get promoted and don't win any of the first 10 games the fans will turn on him. KB said TM needs to stop having that negative attitude. Just thought it was an interesting listen FOR ONCE
I don’t find him dour and un-ambitious, only Moyes fits that description. I just think he is realistic and trying to keep the pressure off our players. Managing the mentality and expectation of young players is absolutely vital if they are to be a success. Also I’m pretty sure he realises the fans would just treat next season as a massive bonus party if we went up. We all know we are way ahead of where we thought we’d be already, won’t spend a lot of cash due to the sustainability issue and would be favourites for the drop.
I like TM (never used too) and we are playing the best football I can remember. But I think he is dour. But whatever he is doing it's working. I think KB was saying that yes take the pressure off the kids but there's a fine line. In my opinion I think TM would rather be gallant "losers" this season and have one more season in Champions first. But a lot of fans from what I've read probs feel the same. I think with a few additions we would easily survive next season in prem. Also with a fit RS and the possibility of Diallo staying for another season if we got promoted.
He certainly did say that. I agree, its "We" as in Sunderland, when doing well but "We" as in Derby, when were not..
Not sure I agree with KB. TM is clever at protecting our young team and keeping their feet on the ground. I expect he is quite different at training. He has turned out to be the perfect manager this season.
Just watching TM presser on YouTube from yesterday. I'm 2 mins in and he looks like he just lost the winning lottery ticket. He's already saying we could finish as low as 12th or 13th...yes that's true but ha'way Tony man...
I have known him since he played at Boro, he ain't dour, he don't suffer fools or agents. he just thinks hard before he speaks cos he has made gaffs before and got massive pelters. That's why he is careful.
I completely agree. Are Carlos Corberan or Jon Dahl Tomasson talking about promotion? I doubt it. If Mowbray started talking about the playoffs and promotion and we lost tomorrow, he'd be accused of taking his eye off the ball. Fans are weird with this stuff. We want our owners, managers and players to have the same passion that we have - but take one look at a match thread or be in a pub after a couple of bad results and you'll see that passion completely blinds good judgement.
It takes the pressure off the young lads though. Think it’s good management personally. This season anyhow. If he starts next season saying we aim to stay up and does a Moyes, then i reserve the right to change this opinion
