We no longer have a realistic chance of survival: it's time to give the kids a chance to play. Don't necessarily have to start them, but give them some minutes and a taste of this level. The senior players have given up anyway, and getting the kids acclimated now will help entering next season.
No surprises, but JWP wants out in the summer and has been open to a move for a while: https://archive.ph/P4Sra
The worst thing about yesterday for me was that I wasn't even angry with the performance or result, because I expected it. We are just an embarrassment of a club. For a few weeks I've looked at the bottom of the league and thought anyone could stay up, except us. No fight, no care, nothing from our team. Keeping Ralph - wrong decision. Appointing Jones - wrong decisions. Signing Onuachu for an almost record fee - wrong decision. Appointing Selles - wrong decision. There have been so many mistakes. The worrying part for me is not relegation, it's that we don't have the decision makers to get us promoted next season, and probably not any season soon after that either.
TBH I'm actually quite looking forward to the Championship next season. I can tick off a whole new load of grounds that I haven't been to. And we may actually win some games!
And no f*****g VAR...!! (although knowing our luck there will probably be an announcement in the next few days saying the EFL will be introducing it in the Championship from next season )
Well that's relatively easy to fix. And TBH, after the Jones debacle, I suspect Ankersen won't get much of a say in our next managerial appointment. It's all about getting the next manager right for me. And if Semmens has an input, I'm confident we'll get the right man in.
I get the reasoning, but my view is that however much rubbish the current squad may offer on a weekly basis, it's not fair to expose the younger future of the Club to the end of this, the worst season for decades. Maybe one or two on a a selective basis but with the absence of any tactical quality from the bench that's about all.
To be fair, there won't be 'one goal' or even 'one team' to put us down. We have been so **** all year, I think there are 19 teams and about 57 (and counting) goals that have put us down.
A bunch of the kids are stalling on signing contracts because they aren't getting a look in. Give them a look in. There's literally no downside.
That's probably the most likely game. But it could well be one game earlier. It would require Forest to avoid defeat tomorrow against Brentford (possible), us to lose to Newcastle on Sunday (certain), and there to be a winner between Leicester and Everton on Monday (very possible). If all of that happens, then it comes down to the fixtures on Monday 8th. Leicester play first that day (away to Fulham), then it's Everton (away to Brighton), and then it's us (away to Forest). If the winner of the Leicester-Everton follows that up by winning earlier on that Monday, a defeat for us that night to Forest would confirm it. I sort of hope that's how it pans out to be honest, rather than dragging on an extra week or two. The sooner it can be confirmed, the sooner everyone can focus on next season.
You maybe right but they must know if we, correction, once we're relegated the opportunity to play next season will be much greater as they'll be plenty of spaces early season.
