From early 2017 to late 2019 the goons looked stupid match in match out claiming that they had 61000 at games when there were clearly thousands of empty seats. That's gonna be us...there were thousands going empty for this
What really stands out is we seem to habitually concede when somebody gets into the gap between Porro and the RCB, as we've conceded when Tanganga, Sanchez and now Romero are playing RCB, and initially Tanganga and Sanchez bore the brunt of fan rage about it It really is worth delving into whether we had that same weakness and/or if that weakness was anywhere near as pronounced when it was Emerson or Doherty starting at RWB...but the thing is I get the feeling the actual story is less Porro and the more likely reason is that, with Hojbjerg's legs packing in, that space is getting left open far more in the last couple of months than it was in the first 3-4 months of the season and that's causing a domino effect of gaps opening up
I just think he’s absolutely horrific defensively. Is so easily turned and doesn’t seem to know how to tackle. Good going forward though as we’ve just seen. Should probably play him RW.
Plus the fact Romero needs to decide whether he still wants to be a footballer or just **** off with his World Cup medal and retire.
Ironically he could do with a Sissoko-like player in the pivot to be on his shoulder ...just without the Sissoko-like player winding up playing as a WB while he ****s off up the pitch, which happened all too often with Sissoko when he was babysitting Aurier
Saddest thing is Aurier is miles better than three of the last four RBs/ RWBs we’ve signed (excluding Spence til we actually see him play). Never ever thought I’d be saying such a thing.
