No he didn't. He pushed it out, it hit the defender and landed in Wilson's path Where do you think he could/should have pushed it, considering it was a powerful, low shot from a wide position?
Financial I understand. He was on a fair wedge and the club is trying to edge towards sustainable, which is becoming achievable with the crowds and increased league status. I know a few who reckon he wasn’t great tactically and they went up ‘in spite’ of him and should have won the league easily, gotta say I went couple of games and they looked a good side for the level. You don’t see the full picture from 2 games I guess.
