I may regret ever putting this out there but that Burnley game has to surely have changed the mentality in the squad. Granted, some of our players might think it's already job done when it's anything but. Two draws I can see. But even that would keep us up. Wouldn't it? Well, wouldn't it?? Now I'm bricking myself again.
So, tell us. Are you going? Turn up in a jumper, then at the half, take it off to reveal the real hooped guernsey.
You're right, but Blackpool could knock us out on goal difference, so I'd like at least a Millwall draw, then we focus on our game and what Reading are doing. The others have game in hand on us, so I'm looking at worst case for them ie winning, but they may yet do us a favour.
There have been a few false dawns with this lot. The Watford win followed by the 6-1. Gallant draws followed by ****e. I wouldn’t put it past us at all to lose both games and still stumble over the line to safety but I reckon we’ll get something in the last game should we require it.
Oh Lordy, you're probably right. But it's just that Burnley result must be the result of this entire Championship season. If they were to get hammered by Stoke after that, I think I might have to emigrate. But as you say, this lot have got previous when it comes to false dawns. So we might have to rely on someone doing us a favour. Didn't take much to crush my daft optimism did it?
If somehow we do end up not getting relegated I hope the club doesn’t try and make it seem like any kind of success - this season’s been a disaster and one to forget. I really don’t think I can take a final day decider with our lot:
Not just the matchday thread then. This thread is becoming more pessimistic by the post. 'We're safe' to 'we need a result to be sure' to 'can't trust our lot to get a result on the final day of the season'. Let's hope there are 2000 believers who get behind the team and not sceptics who sit there in silence there on Saturday..
I had a low alcohol Guinness last week, it was simply ghastly never again one cannot beat the real Guinness
You need to go, and if they go infront at any stage, do whatever you have to to get the game abandoned !
As has been said on multiple occasions, we are QPR, the rollercoaster of the EFL. As the team rolls, so do we (the undying faithful). But I reckon there are too many positive permutations, i.e. in our favour, that will keep us up. However, in saying that, let me remind you, we are QPR and so the less likely result, i.e. all the teams below us bar two, scrounge enough points to overtake us, is POSSIBLE! (How's that for a rollercoaster ride). If nothing else, we (QPR) are challengingly alluring.
It's pathetic isn't it? 'We'll probably lose our last two games'. Of course we ****ing won't. **** off.
I would have liked that too, but getting him on just about 60 into the game would get the Stoke defence scrambling to keep up with his fresh legs, imho. Anyways, only one thing left to say .... C'MON U RRRS!!!
Will we play the same tactics as against Burnley... ???? Defend, and take a point and look for the breakaway. I suspect we will.. We rode our luck last week...
Well, based on this season's performances I'd say it's more probable than improbable. I actually think we'll get at least a point, maybe even more from these last two, but nothing would surprise me.
Basically shows that whatever players and managers say, kiss the badge and laud the fans, it means very little. Warnock spoke so well when he left us and now this. I think the acid test is players who continue to attend as fans after their careers are over eg Kevin Gallen. Does Lee Cook still come?
I can see: QPR on 49 Rotherham on 48; Cardiff ending on 48; Blackpool on 48; Huddersfield on 46; Reading on 45; Wigan of course down on 44 Of course there are mostly draws in there as quite a few bottom of the league clashes. So something is bound to go tits up and there be an upset as a draw becomes a win. A couple of draws should do us (but … this league is as crazy as a box of frogs), so let’s do the crazy and win at Stoke so we can all relax on the last day of the season.
He was treated pretty shabbily both when we first sacked him and when we didn’t give him the job the second time. I did want him gone after that appalling MK Dons cup game but with hindsight it was a bad decision. The bloke was and still is IMO is a great manager. If he keeps them up he’ll have done a brilliant job again.
