Well if plying 3 at the back then I’d assume it would be Gomez Konate vvd? So in that case you’d have vvd playing on the left of back 3?

All I said was that we are, in practice, often playing three at the back atm. Nowhere have I suggested that we adopt that formation officially.
Atm, the nominal RB is wandering about in the middle half the time, so the others are getting pulled across to the right until someone manages to get back to help.
I've already stated that I think the current set-up is disastrous, a better solution would be to have an actual RB.
In fact, our best years recently have been with both FBs offering the creativity, with the midfield largely being solid and protecting the CBs. It's been phenomenally successful, and I'm at a loss to work out why we've changed it.

The original comment wasn't from Saint mate, it was MITO that suggested 343

Well yes and Robertson and TAA would play wing backs still. That's what I thought Saint meant.

Leaves us with one less body in there middle though so still has its problems.

Don’t think that solves our issue. If anything makes it worse.

As you then only have 2 in CM in Hendo and fab and teams going to walk through that even more so than when we play a 3.

Think whole point of having TAA tuck into middle gets him into game but also gives us 4 in there on the ball to outnumber them but also stops teams going through the middle in transition. Obviously leaves space out wide Thanet can exploit but less dangerous to have ball out there than running at our CB through middle of pitch

Yeah has its problems like I said. Better off seeing the season out and buying legs for the middle of the park.

Read the latest information on injuries, suspensions and availability in the Liverpool men's squad.

    Availability

Ibrahima Konate is being assessed ahead of the Premier League trip to West Ham United.

Jürgen Klopp on April 25: "We have to see. We use the full time until tomorrow – well, we leave today so the decision we have to make today. Ibou, we need to see how it is with him but in the moment I am rather positive but that doesn't mean a lot. From possible starters I think that's it."

    Injuries

    Roberto Firmino

The Brazilian is currently sidelined having sustained a muscle injury.

Klopp on April 25: "We are still thinking that [he will be back before the end of the season]… this week, no, I hope that at the end of the week he is closer, but so far he was not in team training, so that's it."

    Naby Keita

The No.8 is now nearing a return to fitness after picking up a muscle issue while on international duty with Guinea in March.

Klopp on April 25: "If everything goes well I think he could be in partial training today. That's what I heard yesterday. He was not in team training yet but he could do warming up, if we do rondos he could do that and then he has again to do his own programme. So it means, yes, [he is] much closer, much, much closer."

    Stefan Bajcetic

Bajcetic is currently sidelined as he receives treatment for a stress response in the adductor area.

Bajcetic on social media on March 16: "Unfortunately I've picked up an injury that will keep me out until the end of the season. It's very sad to say goodbye to this amazing season for me but I understand this is part of football and will only make me stronger physically and mentally."

    Calvin Ramsay

Ramsay will miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season after undergoing knee surgery.

Klopp on February 17: "Even if you could come back a bit earlier, that makes no sense because now it is really to build the boy up physically and then to have a new start and we go again."

    • Suspensions
No Liverpool players are currently suspended.

However, Fabinho is one yellow card away from receiving a two-game Premier League suspension.
