Time for a bit of science. The LHC has now stopped colliding beams of protons for a month, and is now colliding much more massive lead ions. The data from the proton collisions will be analysed during this period, looking for evidence of the Higgs Boson and supersymmetry.

The lead ion collisions produced a mini big-band last Monday, producing temperatures of ten trillion degrees K, a million times hotter than the centre of the sun. This produces quark-gluon plasma which existed a millionth of a second after the big bang.

    Bring on the Higgs!!!

Just thought you'd all like to know <ok>

Get in the zone GKRK. The discovery of the Higgs will propel Liverpool FC back to the very summit of world football <ok>

This LHC thing is massive, sling him up top.

btw, that thing really is massive, finally caught a glimpse watching some debunking angels and demons (the booK).
