    Sunderland v Watford.

Watford sit 13th in the table, top of the seond half. ¡¡What an achievement in this incredible season!! The players are motivated, giving it their all, and new manager Wilder only has great things to say about all those contracted by the club. The future is yellow.

Unfortunately, this is the mid-table medocrity, something we haven't experienced in a while, that is now a reality. This has been made harder to accept by blatent erros by the ownership. What a cruddy season. Summer will be pivotal too.

Sunderland, however, are in 6th, and will be looking for a win to help them get into the play offs. Good luck to them. As they had been suffering what we seem to be going through.

I feel for any Watford fan making the trip to the Stadium of Light. (If it is still called that)

I hope at least WIlder shakes the team up, to stop the recent gutless, spineless performances and or results.

COYH as the season fades out before the last game at home to Stoke.

I don't really have much interest, but it would be nice to win a couple of games so people enter the summer break with a bit more positivity.

Think their fans are less confident of them winning than we are of Sunderland beating us !

Seems most fans would rather have kids playing rather than the “wasters” (add any other form of criticism) in the first team .

We haven’t got results when having something to play for so not expecting much change against a team that need or having a real reason to win

So like Cardiff , Huddersfield, QPR , Luton ..

That'll be me then. My previous two trips to Sunderland, Roker Park, resulted in a 5-0 drubbing (Pop Robson hat-trick and a John Ward disallowed goal) and a 3-0 defeat including a Pat Rice OG but with the bonus of a 10 minute chat with GT at the services!
    Not expecting much better, TBH!

Make sure, at least, you have something else planned for the trip as well! ;)

I have a list of hostelries to visit, of course. Much will depend on what time the coaches get there. The football, as always, will be secondary.

If people really hate the team and club that much why are they going ?

Long way to go for something you won’t enjoy !

No idea why some go. I know I support the team and I'm vociferous with it, my ire is generally, but not exclusively, reserved for the officials. I also am not afraid of giving short thrift to those that have a pop at individual players - the last time I did was the 4-0 drubbing at Hull under Silva.

I'm also a stadium anorak, and I've not been to this one. And I've made a point of choosing a nothing game: the despair I can live with, it's the hope that kills me!

Fair enough and we haven’t played at Sunderland for a bit plus it’s a nice ground and maybe place .

I am not there is much to gain from screaming at players when they come over to clap at the end:

I mean they cannot kind of win (bit like during the game !!) really in that regard - dammed if they do and dammed if they don’t.

Constructive criticism is fair as they get from the manager and you’d like to think that is taken on board although obviously understand people feeling it hasn’t been this season!

For what it’s worth I think some players do care and want to do well but either have lacked ability , confidence or the skill to work as a team maybe because some aren’t trying as hard to make things right?

We can probably work out who belong in each category.

I think I pinpointed the reason for the whole malaise a while ago - when we wouldn't release Dennis for the AFCON, the Nigerian witchdoctors on Facebook put a 500 year relegation curse on us.
Perhaps we should apologise and promise to release Kalu and Hungbo next time? ;)

Even worse - we refuse to give Okoye any game time.

Weird stuff always happens near the end of the season. There's a part of me that thinks out of nowhere we'll win this comfortably 2-0 playing decent football and ruin Sunderland's day!
