If we go down and Season Tickets become available in either the South Stand or Cheese Wedge I will buy two in a flash. As the purpose of your post was to take the pi$$, allow me to give you some new material to work with! I will give Ben the tickets to use with whoever he wants for every game, the kid is desperate to go all the time and I feel so sorry for him in some ways. I introduced him to Leeds when we were mid table in the Championship and then the Monk days of vague optimism, including cold wet nights against the likes of Rotherham on a Tuesday night when we didn't get home until the early hours and he had school in the morning. I dropped the ST's coming up to his GCSE's and have regretted it ever since. The reason you can take the pi$$ is, in truth I ain't that bothered about going any more. Don't get me wrong, still watch every game live and love Leeds but don't miss the long days, don't have 4 days of sciatica after 7 or 8 hours in the car and, probably most of all, am disappointed that the club did not do more for those that were loyal when tickets were available for every game before they created a 50k membership scheme and several years on a waiting list for ST's. Ben's younger brother is nearly 18 now and deserves my time too and weekends now are more enjoyable at home with family for me. For all of these reasons, I won't be at the Newcastle game but Ben will with his mate Oscar (class lad). Oscar is an Ipswich fan but loves Football and I would actually rather step aside and let the young guys enjoy it as it should be. The Palace game ruined my weekend as it as was (worsened only by Jan thumping me at cards afterwards in an attempt to cheer me up). If I had gone with Ben, I would also have been cursing that I had actually, more or less, given up my whole weekend for that garbage. So, fire away, I have joined the world of plastics and armchair fans (don't worry I won't start lambasting the club for their lack of spending at the same time) and the "new brigade" that snaffled all the tickets after our promotion can enjoy the cold nights while I sip a beer in my kitchen in the warmth watching the game!! Maybe we can do York Races again in the summer and I will let the train take the strain and have a hangover for 4 days instead of sciatica
Us sofa surfers have suffered enough to have a free pass from anyone, just remember that somewhere in the dark recess of your brain you will have some good memories of when playing for the club actually meant something
We have 5 first team wingers on the books. One uncrocked striker. One goalie who is semi good on his day. A couple of pathetic full backs and Ayling. Not one bit of creativity in midfield and we blame the coach. The blame lays at the top for rads let the boro reject loose with the money. He did not get a balanced squad and wasted it on a ghost player jka/dan james/rutter /Aaronson. Weston is a tub of lard so why go for him. Don't blame the coaches they have nothing to work with.
Be good to do a meet up next season matey. Don’t mind chipping in for a box and organising something in here if tickets are tough to get. Haven’t caught up with anyone on here in ages.
Would love to see you mate - how are you? Even boxes will be a nightmare, I got one once for a single game but that was to take a friend who was terminally ill so the commercial department did it for me as a "favour". That was when we were in the Championship (against Ipswich) but they said normally they only take bookings for a minimum of 10 games - that was two and a half grand a pop back then (per game), lord knows what it would be now
Anytime Im over, I offer to meet anyone bothered but only Wakey Olof, and Chesh ever bother, God bless them. Probably cos were ordinary working class lads
I've met everyone you mentioned as well as your good self on a couple of occasions so I must be an ordinary working class lad but please don't mention it to Jammy In all seriousness, the South Stand and the Wedge are far more me than Corporate, still a hooli at heart
