Good Morning. It's Tuesday 25th April, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road If we're relegated, let's go down swinging Leeds Utd have become an easy target this season; a disjointed outfit of overpaid prima donna's lacking the credentials to compete on an even playing field. Coming up short is one thing, but not having the stomach to scrap for their Premier League lives is altogether unacceptable. Leeds have one of the most loyal fan bases in the World, supporting their club through thick and thin, scrapping over every golden ticket to watch their heroes in action. Their loyalty knows no bounds, but the players aren't keeping their side of the bargain! They lack the courage and fortitude synonymously associated with Leeds Utd in years gone by, content with picking up their over inflated pay cheques at the end of the week, knowing that when this cash cow has paid out, their agents will find them another... It's time for the players to roll up their sleeves and fight - and it starts tonight at 8pm. please log in to view this image Pundit predicts draw in relegation six pointer Former player, now pundit Paul Merson has predicted draw this evening, when Leicester City visit Elland Road. The former England and Arsenal star highlights the Foxes recent victory over Wolves as being a turning point, that should give them sufficient confidence to get something out of the match. Once place, and a single point currently separates the two teams. At this point in the season, three points would be priceless, especially with Southampton facing Bournemouth, and a tired Brighton side travelling to Nottingham Forest, 72 hours after their grueling 120 minute Cup loss against Manchester Utd. “Leicester pulled off a phenomenal result last week. They were 1-0 down to Wolves and with the way they’ve been playing, completing a comeback and winning the game will give them so much confidence. “Leicester made some changes against Wolves, and I think they needed to do that. They’ve got Leeds and Everton up next and if they win both games, they’re safe. This is a big week for them. “This is a huge football match, and it’s a hard one to call. Leeds have conceded 11 goals in their last two home games. I think Leeds will be very cagey this week. They play gung-ho football at home, but I don’t think they’ll do that this time. I think we’ll see a draw in this match. please log in to view this image Gracia does not rate Rutter Has anyone else noticed that Georginio Rutter is only given a run out after Leeds have already thrown in the towel? He came on, when Leeds were 4-1 down against Liverpool, 5-1 down to Palace and losing 3-0 at the Emirates. All the recent games that were moderately close (Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Wolves), the Frenchman has not featured at all! Is Javi Gracia trying to tell us something? please log in to view this image Big Jack remembered 70 years ago today, big Jack made his very first appearance for Leeds Utd (against Doncaster Rovers). He went on to make a further 772 appearances during a 21 year senior career, plus a World Cup winning medal for England, where he gained a further 35 caps. They just don’t make ‘em like Big Jack anymore. please log in to view this image
There are a few players Gracia doesn’t fancy and why I think he is in the shyt. Prefers Bamford to Rodrigo, anyone instead of player of the year Gnonto which makes me wish the season was over. Ell sometimes your clickbait winds me up. Yes you hate Rutter we get it
Morning all it's the last chance saloon day. Rutter has shown nothing to warrant even a place on the bench. Sometimes though you get a surprise and maybe he could be that. Same midfield tonight and i fear relegation. We need someone to take the 10 spot be it willy or jack. We have three more wingers then so will be ok and rodrigo/bamford up top. Who knows what formation mr comatose will use today. If he had played for a drawand hoped to sneak the odd win it would have been fine by me. But to lose our goal difference in two games is pathetic.
Morning all I wonder what the mood will be like on here later this evening, nothing like a win to make it all feel better
Christ i am hoping & praying we get a win tonight, i hope the players have taken a long hard look at themselves and saying bring it on. This is where you need a real leader/character in the dressing room, unfortunatly for us we haven't. So it's over to the individual players to psyche themselves up for this one and show the worlds most loyal fan base they actually care.
A win will paper over the cracks and will lift the mood. Not switching on coverage till a minute before kickoff. Don’t want to listen to any pundits or highlights of recent games
Georginio Rutter hasn’t been given a chance and he has been thrown to the wolves. Remember when we started him in the cup against Fulham and guess what we played a lot better than Fulham that night and we’re unlucky not to win. Rutter scored a good goal that got chalked off wrong key. He made the keeper pull off some very good saves, one a worldy. Guess what maybe if he had been given more chances instead of using the unfit and pretty toothless Bamford maybe we would have a much better looking kid on our hands. For me he isn’t getting a fair rub of the green. He gets the odd few minutes when they should be handed out when we have a safe lead but he’s thrown on and told to go and something special when we are getting thrashed.
Jack Charlton now he is a Leeds UTD Legend . Hero and an Honorary Irishman.. Freedom of Dublin. The man was a giant.
Same here Eire. I either turn the sound off or watch a bit of Corrie till the match comes on. Now I feel confident that we'll get something out of the game. Going by the last couple of games I shouldn't really think like that. But we've got to win eventually, so why not tonight.
Ive given up even analysing possible scenarios. I had a feeling we were going to get something from Liverpool. So much for my psychic powers
A lot of talk about Gnoto however Bamford, Rodrigo, Sini and Harrison all have better goal contributions to games played this season however Gnoto should still be starting ahead of Aaronson but biggest issue is that Harrison, Sini and Gnotos best positions are all LM which I think is part of the problem. I think Javi is right to start Bamford over Rodrigo but improvement needed in that position like many others.
If we stay up I really hope this comes to fruition “Leeds United reportedly see Marcelo Gallardo as a future head coach and the former River Plate boss is a committed disciple at the church of Marcelo Bielsa. Like Mauricio Pochettino, Pep Guardiola and co, Gallardo credits one of the game’s most iconic, most innovative footballing minds for sparking his interest in the tactical side of the ‘Beautiful Game’.
