If the club had done what they should have done back in 21 some of the following would have been replaced: Forshaw Ayling Cooper Dallas Struijk Roberts Poveda Shackelton Bamford Then the summer of 22 what was left of the above to be replaced and upgraded. But guess what these lot are all still here and the ones still in our squad are all failing or broken. We are now in a dire situation because earlier action not taken
Hell of a lot simpler than bringing in up to ten quality pl players and a manager and turning us into a mid table pl team. That's never going to happen. I promised myself over weekend Id try stay clear of Leeds stuff for a week and Ive failed miserably already.
Is it though, what would the ambition be, get back into the PL, with that list of 15 plus kids and a few new names, only to get there and need the same signings as if we had have stayed up. We dont need 10, but we do need 6. Go down and then we would need 10.
I believe we need a lot more than 6 as we stand. An entire defence. Two or three midfielders and all new strikers. Never going to happen though
I'd agree if the immediate goal was for top 6 but not if we are to do it gradually and within our financial restraints, 6 would be plenty, obviously the correct 6 but just as importantly the best coach we can attract
I think a few of them will go abroad. There might be a few Champs clubs that pick up the younger lot. Dallas I don't expect to play again. Bamford might go to a prem club same as James.
The problem is that there has been a catalogue of errors since Radz took over. The recruitment is the glaringly obvious one. The blatantly obvious one is letting White and Neiktiah go as they're about to win the Premier League with Arsenal.
Well we didnt own them and neither club was willing to sell the players to us, so not sure how you class them as errors, not when compared to the £40m wasted on JKA. Also Arsenal are not going to win the Premier league (if they win it all at all) due to Eddie's total of 4 goals that he has scored in the EPL this season
No we didn't own them but we could have signed both on a permanent. We got bullied out of the race for White and Bielsa managed to piss of Eddie by keeping him on the bench and let posh paddy keep his place. But you're looking at 2 young players who could have done well for us.
No Brighton turned down all our offers , 12 months before they sold him to Arsenal. Brighton said they wouldnt sell to a club they considered at the time one of their rivals, thus the only chance we had of convincing them to let White go was if he asked for a transfer. Instead he signed a new contract and they sold him 12 months later As for Eddie, he didnt set the world alight when he played for us, he didnt suit Bielsa's system, nor has he set the world alight at Arsenal, making 76 appearances in 3 1/2 years. Eddie has the same strike ratio playing in the Premier league, as Jack Harrison does, both scoring 1 goal every 5 appearances I agree that they are both good young talented footballers, but the club has made a lot worse transfer mistakes than not signing the two players you highlighted in the same period of time, in my opinion.
