Well that's my first ever marathon done and dusted
Nearly 5 hours of total agony from start to finish
I was warned the night before that it would test my resolve and that the pain would be unbearable
and by God they were right... I won't be watching that sh1t again !!!
Should have continued watching the movie channel instead

    Had me going there Blueturk.

I was thinking that when we had a beer in Poole you didn't say you were an athlete of some repute. The several Stellas you had hid it well. :emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer:

Ha! Ha! You got me there Blueturk.
I was just about to congratulate you on a fantastic time!
One of my regrets, never running a marathon and it’s a bit late now aged 72.
However I did manage to do the Parkrun yesterday.

Same here Irish. I would love to have had a marathon on my cv, especially London. Not to be now. 3 half marathons in the bag.

I manage Parkrun most weeks (356 done in 11 years, 252 at Porthcawl) and a 10k from time to time. Any more than that I need to lie down behind the fridge freezer, on a very cold setting.

Wow! That’s a lot of Parkruns Bluey.
I’ve been doing them for 11 years as well and only have 191 to my name.
I must get rid of my ‘I can’t be arsed’ attitude on a Saturday morning!

What BfB didn't say Irish is that he is selling ice creams at Porthcawl, not running :)

I did the Cardiff marathon in 1982, (known as the Western Mail marathon in those days) in 4hrs 10mins. The winner was Bernie Plain but I also remember passing Jimmy Savile on the way round! No interference though! Couldn’t run a bath these days! ‍♂️

Masky is actually in this pic, taken by Mrs Masky, and a certain individual known to you all. 2 London, 2 Cardiff, 1 Benidorm and five other marathons , ran the London 1994 for Touch Radio, live on the air! Loads of half’s, and cross country. Used to be a massive hobby, now it’s playing music! :emoticon-0103-cool: Irish, where do you do your parkrun in Cardiff pal…maybe we could meet up, chew the fat?

Blue turk pal, the photographer is clearly on the opposite side to that lady for all to see. Taking the piss is an art form, now pull your panties up! :emoticon-0103-cool: No offence intended!

Tremorfa, Masky. It’s their 100th this Saturday. Park in Tesco, Pengam Green.

If you want to meet up you’ll have to wait as I’m usually last. We could have a coffee and chinwag in Tesco cafe afterwards if you wish.

Mrs Irish and Rumney Bluebird will be there as well. You could get some tips off Rumney about how to get points in the prediction league!

Problem is Irish pal, is that it starts of with a cup of tea, not content with that, leads on to other things! Not going to let what Happened in Pontcanna Fields that night happen again.....nooooooooo!
