Read the post again. Nobody expecting him to be Salah (weird how some posters make up bizarre stuff that nobody has said?). Effort is the bare minimum.
Good points. Also 19 and came out of nowhere. I'd say in his few appearances he had more involvement and bigger impact on games than Vaughan. Covil, Vaughan, Simons, Simmons, ....
Malcolm has become a target purely because expectation has been ramped up on him because of Liam calling him out as his top target. I've got nothing against Harry and he's done OK in his last two games. I'm merely pointed out that everything he does seems to be judged through rose-tinted glasses whereas the opposite is true of Malcolm.
Imo you are partially right. There's been a fair bit of rose tinted glasses re. Vaughan (albeit he does look promising). BUT surely there's now no defending of Malcolm after yesterday, and Roseniors judgement concerns me a tad.
May be wrong, wasn't Covil the choice of SA before he was injured... wasn't that before LR arrival...?
Yeah that’s what I was replying to, just saying it was similar with Malcolm too, although probably fit different reasons
Jut to say Oscar was sat near me yesterday Constant stream of young kids pestering him to sign their shirts n have selfies with him and he was more than happy to oblige Never seen so many young kids do it to a city player like that Obviously well liked His mrs was bang tidy too
IIRC that Watney Cup game was 17 year-old Roger Devries’ debut. First half he marked Willie Morgan, who didn’t get a kick, so second half Morgan swapped wings with Best. The youngster proceeded to do a similar number on him. Probably the most impressive debut in City’s history.
Devries was 19, a couple of months off 20.He was born October 1950. Still a good start. Tony Currie did an awful tackle on him at the Battle Of Bramall Lane that kicked things off.
