I have never lived in the north east so don’t quite feel the rivalry like other fans would. I can’t help but feel impressed with the job Howe has done putting aside all the blood money stuff. What a time to be a fan of north east football. For once.
They were insufferable when they were ****, now people who’ve never even watched football on the telly before are crawling out the woodwork
They'll be the first team to score 10 in the premier league today. Spurs players dont even look like they're giving a ****.
Beggars belief they're sitting on the tails of top 4 and Daniel Levy just thought '**** it, in no rush for a new manager"
Really, the rivalry has gone now for me and many. Im afraid you just can't "put away" the blood money thing. I have as much interest in what Saudi Arabia do in a football match as I do in the price of mayonnaise at Aldi. They are not a club now, they are a team representing a country, as is one other, and probably a third to come. Not for me. They are all anti football and should be forced to play each other in their own league. Preferably in one of the desert hell holes that has bought them.
I still see Newcastle as our rivals. Don't care about the owners, they'll go at some point. It's the supporters that makes clubs and they're still the same.
yeh I can’t stand the club. I just look at their team on the pitch and the job Howe has done and can’t help be impressed. which will all go to **** when they overspend massively this summer and ruin it
They will be chapions league next year. Not be long and the top 4 will be state owned! As Liverpool and Man Utd will be next!
This coming week will be absolutely massive in terms of playoffs. The two teams with a game in hand play their extra match, but Blackburn have to face Burnley who are looking to seal top spot, and West brom go to Sheffiel United who are looking to confirm automatic promotion. I can see 0 points for both of them, which means it's firmly in our hands. Gonna be an exciting end to the season for sure.
This isn't a thing. I always wonder why this gets said. No-one ever talks about being a fan of London Football or of North West football.
Our derby will be in the playoffs v Boro. Not sure how we can have a derby v Saudi Arabia. They're not a real club.
For me, i have alot more contempt for their current owners than i ever had for the club/supporters. Which is a sad state of affairs on a footballing front. I want the owners to fail more than the club. So the rivalry, on the traditional front, has changed for some, gone for others. Im, at times, somewhere in between, at other times, couldnt give a ****. Washed my hands with them as a club and washed my hands with them as supporters. I dont talk to my mag mates about football now, they dont even have banter or brag to me, despite their success. Which is rather telling i find. Even when they talk amongst themselves, they are sheepish and rather muted. Like they are embarrassed to enjoy it in front of me. Or like they are worried that one mention of the owners, by me, will dampen their enthusiasm.
