More teams competing for 4th place the easier it is for us as means more pressure is being applied

 

Well it's not really.

the europa has some capacity for it and a cl.place. if you.win your group the number of games drops in knockouts.

the conference is **** and a distraction with no good prize. hence worst of all.

8th is out of Europe and zero coefficient points and nearly.as bad.

we need 5th or 6th at worst here.

we need to hope city.win the cup, arsenal the league and Real the cl.

6th will be europa then

nah, it's got no prize money.
winning it got roma a total of 20million euros. as in **** all.

you only get a prize of playing in the europa league as its winners

the europa league is worth more in prize money and TV money but a poor second place to the champions league.

most importantly the europa offers us a Champions league qualifying spot so worth being in.

the only thing that makes the conference league in any way attractive rather than a distraction from the 4th place battle next season is the club coefficient.

we are currently 2nd and will drop due to poor last 16 exit. no Europe at all will put a 15-30 point hole in our coefficient for 5 years.

we need Europe. need to get 5th or 6th imo, 7th would be not financially worth it as a comp

We shouldn’t be relying on winning EL to get into CL the following year so it becomes another competition. Might as well do the conference lesgue, play some easier games. Given younger players like doak carvahlo Ramsay game time.

the europa v the conference is like championship v league 2. we can easily blood at home in europa, make a lot more.money and actually qualify for cl

if that's what it takes.

playing in that conference would be the equivalent of the u19 league for kids.uefa youth league is more relevant

 

not surprising we haven't won it since we have were too good to be in it for the one year it has existed

 

You make no money for the EL. EL has some good teams in it. Don’t actually see it as a fail, think it’s only in England that comp is seen as a second rate comp weirdly, prob cos prem teams make so much money it doesn’t mean as much.

But either way, both comps take place on Thursday. Same amount of games in them. In terms of prep next season the comps are effectively the same

 

you make nearly double the money in the europa. you get to the cl in the europa. you play half decent teams in the europa and that will help kids more. if you win your group the europa has less games. you go to last 16 so it's like cl.

the conference is so far under the level of the prem we are seeing a side who've absolutely struggled all season walk through it. you get half thr money and if the worst happens and you win that you are only into europa anyway.

we are better off bypassing the conference and being in the europa as long term it pushes the kids we have harder

yes there are a lot of English sides who throw the European comps then try to get back in the next season. they don't actually want to be in them after the groups (spurs etc) so will happily get out.

the conference is fine for Brighton. they get the development overall from it and get a shot at europa as they likely won't get top 7 easily. it's fine for Fulham

it's not worth a damn to lfc.

losing cl and getting europa is a 60/70mil drop in revenue. it going to hurt. but at least the europa keeps our standards up

 

You seem to be trying to argue that the Europa is better than the conference? Not sure that’s even up for debate?

Point is that both of those comps are played on Thursday. Have same amount of games (albeit can prob rest players more in conference) and winning the Europa should not be the main target of getting into the CL anyway… so as per my original point, 5-8 is really no real difference in terms of our targets for the league next year. 4th will be a minimum and title is the target

 

One advantage of the Thursday night games... no more 12:30 Saturday KOs.
