Good 3 points but very uneventful game We created absolutely nothing outside of the obvious penalty Kept them from creating any real chances too
Not the best of games, though for the talent Watford has poor from them. Will take the 3 points as we restricted them to very few chances. Nice touch from Vaughan to Slater who got the penalty, and a good penalty from Tufan.
I think Watford might have to sell a few players next season, Ismaila Sarr is on £63k a week there. Apparently Cleverley is on £50k a week and they're paying Keinan Davis over £40k a week (though he is on loan from Villa). Joao Pedro will be on a fair whack as well and he's contracted until 2028. Hardly done enough to warrant a big money move has he? They'll have serious problems and the reduced parachute payments will also have a bit of an impact. They made £10m on selling Emmanuel Dennis to Forest, but they spent £15m plus whatever their loans for Davis, Choudhary et al cost. They're paying £20k p/w for a Benfica striker who has only made 7 appearances ffs. I think they offset stuff by getting Udinese to buy their players off them, but Udinese are not going to qualify for Europe this season and it doesn't look like they'll do anything else. All the players that would go to Watford would probably stay there, unless they're willing to jeopardise Udinese in order to fund a push for the Premier League, which seems horribly cruel.

Good win. Not a game to remember but we battled hard. They look like a team full of mercenaries. Also, I’m convinced Seri hand balled it and they should’ve had a pen but who cares?

Some good stuff played by both sides up until the final third, and a distinct end of season feel to the game and the crowd, noise wise. But a wins a win. My first since QPR
Probably one of the most boring wins I’ve been to in a long time, I can’t remember more than two shots from us. At least we won, kept a clean sheet but entertainment like that won’t attract many new fans. Typical end of season game.
