Not a lot. People have to realise that as a fanbase we have to contribute financially too if we want to progress.
We’ve had this for a number of years, passholders who commit for the season, turn up for every game, then offers happen and all of a sudden fans come out of the woodwork, if prices revert next season, at least 5000 who attend tomorrow won’t next year, Same as the away fans, bin the free bus, be back to a few hundred at most games, everyone likes a cheap deal, except passholders never get one do they?
Steve. I am a pass holder and as such i get first chance for away tickets and free travel. Surely its to our benefit if the club can attract support. Plenty on here were upset at the loss of concessions under the allams because where was our future support coming from. It costs an adult less than £15 a game and we want to see investment.
It works out about a tenner a game, plus first dibs on away tickets, free away travel should you wish to use it, exclusive comps and offers such as the stadium tour for kids. There will be more I have not mentioned. I would say members have it pretty good with City at the moment. The question you ask is one I have heard a lot before. My stance is I would rather sit in a full stadium with a bit of life and noise than a half empty stadium. If you're happy with what you are being asked to pay why would you care what the guy next to you is paying? The only gripe I have is the fact they clog the turnstiles up with their flappy bits of paper and massive QR codes. They should have their own entry points with a big sign saying 'Flappers and big codes here'
I’m not saying it’s a bad thing having reduced rates, but like Chazz says, maybe a little freebie for passholders now and then like Leicester do, a free drink maybe now and then, you know, reward the committed rather than the one offs. I used to swap shifts months in advance when the fixtures came out, cost me a fortune on Saturday overtime, we’ve all done it, yet in 50 odd years of supporting City, I’ve never not once had anything from the club. Maybe I don’t tweet suck up bollocks to the club or Acun enough. And do you really think any of the cheap ticket buyers go to away games? No chance, they don’t even go to night games, away travel has always been a priority for passholders that’s not new, free travel?, piss on that for me, I’ve seen pics of those fans on them, sit all day, and coked up knobheads.
My pass went up this season so no I wasn’t happy to pay but I paid it anyway As Rico says something for the committed would be a good gesture and easy to do on our cards wouldnt it? They’re spending a fortune in the uncommitted with freebies give the committed something Or will it be well let’s give the away tickets to the newbies when we play Liverpool etc again? Cos they really want them so let’s keep them happy
It’s a bit like when the badly-behaved kids at school get rewarded because they didn’t punch or kick someone for a whole week. Meanwhile, the good kids who just get on with it, attend every day and don’t cause hassle don’t get a reward because it’s expected that they behave.
Apart from additional stewarding I'm not sure there is any additional cost in giving away free tickets, I've certainly never come across any financial issues giving away tickets. I would hardly say they're spending a fortune on the uncommitted. I do agree with you and Steve that a little gift, such as a pint for members would be nice but I really dont care if it doesn't happen. We got three plastic bottles which my kids still use now, I know that is a useless gift for guys our age but they're trying to get the uninvested to commit. We aint going to stop supporting City, they know that. In order to make the club bigger and a regular in the top flight it needs 23,000 members realistically and that is why they're targetting the floaters and young kids. A year ago I had 1 x adult and 2 x kids, now we have 2 x adults and 3 x kids. Next season we are likely adding another 1 x adult and 1 x kid because the family is all starting to enjoy days out at City. I would imagine Acun is aiming for that all over the MKM to help underpin his financial efforts.
I think there will be some sort of acknowledgement for the regular supporters. Eventually. But it should exclude those who won the raffle prize to Turkey
The teamcard points provide members with an occasional extra freebie when they want one. I think my membership gives me fantastic value.
I’ve absolutely no problems with giving kids very cheap or free tickets, but adults, no, I’m now on a seniors pass so it’s a great price, but at the start of the season, us in East Stand paid more to subsidise those in the North and South, I said then and still say, that was wrong, and then to give cheap tickets to the non committed for how many games is it now 3/4? Is a bit of a snub to us passholders who have paid more, and get no thanks.
