Klopp sees something so only time will tell. He works hard and has a brain so imo he will at least lead the press. He's not a backheeling, no look showboaters but not everyone can be. He looks like he prospers in space, not tight areas.

He has a really good knack of receiving the ball in deep positions, turning and then running into space. He's done that a few times but would like to see him to do it more.

It's hard to see Gakpo ever being a regular starter in attack but hopefully he proves me wrong.

klopps even dropped nunez for jota to keep gakpo in. its quite odd but there you go. I think we need a good preseason in these lads to have the idea of what's next.

Darwin needs to work on his pressing - that's his issue at the moment. Gakpo is very good at pressing in the central areas.

Nunez is a worker but he's also a run behind type of player. he'll track all the way back to his own goal line but he is not a lead the press central player for klopp. that why he keeps sticking him left side.

Gakpo and mount central pressing in 4231. nunez and diaz and salah as wider options.

    you know it makes sense.

Would prefer Darwin as the natural 9 rather than stuck on the wing. His creativity stats are actually pretty good but he's not refined enough to be on the wing and be a key contributor for chances. He's a player who should be on the end of chances rather than in the build up. Same with Jota.

Jota has an incredible knack for drawing penalties. He's not going to get them on the wings.

Jota and Darwin as the central option suits me because neither are great in build up. But now we also have Gakpo ... the whole strategy is very unclear to me at the moment but with Mike Gordon and now Will Spearman, hopefully we go back to the old process.

Darwin needs to learn how to press else it's hard to see how he fits in the front line. Klopp has said counter pressing is crucial so Darwin needs to either be coached to learn it, or if he won't, he then needs to deliver the output to justify his position and the team behind him need to pick up the slack.

Klopp saying one thing Darwin needs to do to improve is to learn English.

As much as I love Darwin, I dont think he's very bright.

To lead the press like Bobby, to know when to go, takes intelligence, for all his attributes, Iq isn't one of Darwins.

Tbf he has given several interviews in English. Probably helps having his children speak it fluently at home, they will be teaching him.

Won’t be first choice and this is his last big contract. He’s still plenty to offer but think bows the right time to move on.

I wasn't referring to the "keep him" part, I agree that he's time as run it's course

I think Firmino can still come off the bench and change a game. For me, he's almost a unique player. I wonder what stalled in his contract talks because he's sensible enough to know that he won't be starting games like he used to. I wonder where he will go next. I guessed at Roma. I just don't see him going to France or Spain.

He was leaving last summer but agreed to stay for one more year.

We want to keep him but he wants to try something different and/or play regularly. Can't blame him for that

Think he just wants to ply football probably. Won’t be first choice here. Last chance at a big contract. If he can get a 3-4 year deal at 100k will work out nicely. Italy will def suit his tactical awareness
