Are these 14,000 the ones who would have had to leave due to criminal investigations but have had their slates wiped clean?
Brexit critic Michael O’Leary says Britain will be back in the EU within a generatione. He accused Boris Johnson of being “completely delusional” about Brexit and said leaving the EU would be a “net negative” in the next five years. “We mistakenly assumed there would be some kind of competence at the top of the government under Johnson and they would at least put the economy first and do a sensible deal. “It turns out that was completely delusional, just like Johnson and the rest of his Brexit cohort.” He said: “The problem we find dealing with the government is there’s an obsession in most departments to find excuses that show where Brexit benefits. Mr O’Leary previously claimed last summer’s airport disruption across the UK was “completely to do with Brexit” over the struggle to hire EU workers.
I don't like the man particularly but, tbh, much of what he predicted about Brexit is being proved correct ... ... certainly a lot more than what Johnson promised. And I believe he's correct about Brexit being reversed. It's being talked about now and that conversation will grow ... ... exactly as it did when we came out.
Rejoining the European Union has always been talked about… by remainers who can’t come to terms with the democratic will of the people. It won’t be happening. Clinging to the past is no good for the soul.
Or on anything at all. Horrible little weasel who doesn't care if you live or die as long as he's got your money. If you consider him as one of your own - you're the bad guys.
'a senior diplomat breached the mandate agreed by cabinet' over Gibraltar Brexit negotiations. That's in his letter. Yikes. If there is indeed a war going on behind the scenes between government and civil service, government has to win it. If not for this lot, for those following them. The civil service can't be political and do its job properly.
'senior officials' mentioned as well. So it doesn't seem like it's the 'never been told no' generation involved. Can't wait to see the full story on this one.
You can't have a politicized civil service actively hindering government intentions. Regardless of rosette colour. Consider a Tory dominated civil service going out of their way to stop Starmer getting anything done.
