Morning all - mild start to the day in Bandit Country. Busy day, then off to Kent to see my big sister for the week-end...

    Poppies will stay all week-end..

He doesnt mind the poppies, he just objects to being told he has to wear one. He wants to be able to make up his own mind and do as he wishes. Which we all understand. We dont want to be a brainwashed cult after all.

I never mind other people following their conscience - all I ask is that the same courtesy is afforded to me

After all - for those of you who support them your argument is that those who you choose to remember gave their lives for that freedom - so in a bizarre way I am demonstrating your cause :)

Wearing a flower for anything is outside what I know. I can understand why you are emotional about poppys and Armistice Day. So today we have them to remember the people who have died in wars after 1914.

Exactly Lenny - your point is well proven.

Not oftern I praise the BBC, but 5 Live is excellent this morning. They have chosen to let ordinary people call in and tell their stories about the people who they remember - not pressure groups, no opinions, just ordinary people telling some extraordinary and moving stories - just quality radio.

Although his first game will be against us , I am fearful we may get caught by the new gaffer syndrome! ie everyone playing out their skins to impress themselves into the new bosses plans!
