They are only in this position because of one man though. Bohley. He's a grade A dinlo as far as I can tell. Not a clue how to run a football club and more cash than he knows what to do with. Carry on like this mind you and he'll end up Sat next to Simon Jordan on talksport
I don't care about comparing Benitez and Bruce, anyone with eyes and a brain know which was the better manager. As regards this thread though I would swiftly add that from what I've seen, and despite my bias, I'd have to say Bruce is/was a much better manager than Lampard has shown himself to be so far. The team Everton had were comparatively better than Bruce had at Birmingham or Wigan (and Bruce built those with good purchases) and Lampard looked powerless to do anything with them other than drift into relegation. Bruce didn't get a chance at a club with the resources of Chelsea and Lampard has fluffed it once already and looks worse for round 2.
This is true, and is testament to how godawful Lampard is, rather than anything positive about Bruce at all. Lampard - distinctly average at Derby, didn't accomplish anything, but out of the blue he gets the Chelsea job cos they're in the **** and can't sign players and no one else wants the job. Gets sacked inevitably when they can sign players and they want to bring a proper manager in, then goes to Everton and does horrifically. Now Chelsea are an utter laughing stock, he's the man they bring in. Bruce was an extremely average manager who inexplicably kept getting manager jobs, and has managed to have 25+ years managing as a result of teams always being desperate enough to employ him. Lampard just ain't good enough to be a manager, even a crap one like Bruce.
Yes lies, damn lies and statistics. This nicely ignores the fact that Bruce had Wilson, Joelinton, Willock, Almirion, ASM, etc at his disposal, and Rafa had to make a premier League team out of Joselu, Gayle, Dummett, Atsu, Hayden, Yedlin etc. And still did better than Bruce.
They're massively biased - they ignore Bruce's utter dogshit at the start of last season. They try to present similar records, and the fact that Bruce had a vastly stronger squad, shows that he did extremely badly as he has a record like the manager who had a much worse squad. And despite the statistics, Rafa still finished higher than Bruce with his far weaker squad.
Rafa's relegation? The stats of that were P10 W3 D4 L3. Those stats were better than Bruce's average record. Compare that to Bruce's record from the start of last season, ie P9 W0 D3 L6. And the above was with an expensive and quality team. The full season argument back fires on you cos Rafa finished higher up both times with a far weaker and cheaper squad.
