I've looked at a few of the fixtures coming up and a lot of the teams below us and just above us play each other. The Leicester game is a must win and the Bournemouth is a get something out of it game. But we need three points from somewhere because that should put more pressure on the bottom three.
Think we’ll need another 7 points with our **** goal difference for safety. In my opinion if we don’t win either of next two games we’ll have no chance of 36 points
Fact ..... with that team we wouldn't be in the position we find ourselves in YET AGAIN, they were at the very least fighters
Would love to have Potter as our coach/manager and give him a 5 year contract and if that meant changing now then yes I'd do it. When was the last time a club actually backed a manager though when things aren't going as well as hoped ? Maybe Farke at Norwich but eventually they lost patience there as well, others might say Fergie or maybe even Arteta but these days clubs sack their managers as soon as results turn against them and it's all back to square one. Let's be honest that the only way a club like Leeds is going to compete at the top is by building something special over a period of years and we were half way through that process with Bielsa before doing the aforementioned and chucking all that progress in the bin. Potter will now need a project to rebuild his career and it will need to be at a mid/lower PL club like Palace, West Ham, Leicester or us. Doubtful it will be us to be honest as we aren't making the right decisons at the moment.
Great call. and therein lies the problem hence the big reset probably needed. Even in Championship Potter would be great if let run the whole footballing operation. Alas it'll be some unheard of Norwegian coach who's won a schools cup two years running
Agreeing ? Never wanted him sacked and couldn't care less if he'd taken us down as the great man gave us far more than just a football team.
Only reason that decision was tolerated by anyone was the premise we would be recruiting better. Instead we took about four steps back and back to the heckinbottom/Christiannsen standard
True. A point and a win in our next two will put pressure on the other teams. I am not looking forward to the City match.
I have to agree, I know I was one of those saying Bielsa has to go but what a mess since he left. I used to be frustrated that a player had to meet strict Bielsa requirements to even get a sniff in the team, now I can't help wonder how many of the current signings Bielsa would have flatly turned down. If we survive this season, you can't help but feel next season is going to be rinse and repeat, the stupid thing is that a week before Potter joined Chelsea, we would have all welcomed him with open arms and that includes our board. One fail with a bunch of Chelsea egos and he will be considered not good enough, leave him unemployed for 6 months and he'll be back in favour, it makes no sense
