Not the result we wanted . To many players having an off day together. A lot of tired looking performances tonight. Still a point onto the total. Massive game on Sunday and I will be in the away end giving the lads my full support. Who knows what's going to happen next 3 games but whatever does happen this season has been a blast. Loved every second of it. Keep the faith lads and lasses.
Loved the season but 19 points dropped from leading positions at home is something we really need to sort out if we are to make a serious push
Well, that was disappointing last night. Good in the first half, flat as a fart in the second half and might have lost the game in the end. So many missed chances in the first half especially, too many players having an off game. Hey ho, that probably puts paid to any talk of the play-offs. Let's finish the season with some momentum and get ready for the new season
Need to prove we can learn and not repeat mistakes across the club. Speakman in recruitment, TM tactically (twice he’s made the same midfield screw up), and KLD in putting the right level of investment to support the recruitment.
Absolutely. Home form has been really poor all season. Think we are like 15th in the table for it! Comes from lack of striker though, so hoping that sorts its self out in the summer, finally.
I think we will see some bigger fees but won't be much. Will still try to be sustainable as possible .I don't mind it as long there is clear progression.
Mowbray has also got a lot of things right - his substitutions won us the game v Birmingham. I didn't think we were particularly overrun in midfield last night, it was our defending and inability to retain possession that did for us (not to mention the 4 or 5 glaring misses)
I'm more concerned about outgoings. Think Clarke is the obvious one who will attract PL attention. Amad goes back to Man Utd obviously and not convinced Pritchard can be as influential as he was last season in L1 Ross Stewart is the elephant in the room, genuinely not a clue what happens next - gut instinct tells me clubs will wait and see how his fitness/form is then come calling in January. We could be looking at a very, very different front 4 in August
We could. Amad will be a huge loss and nearly irreplaceable, do well to get someone of the same quality. Might mean a system change. You're right with Clarke. Patterson and Ballard too will get some attention. Keepers are reasonably easy to replace so while I would be sad to see Patto go, it wouldn't be as brutal as a Clarke or Ballard. Michut must be signed immediately for the 2.5m fee. No excuses. He will be far better with a second season in English football. I have seen enough of Bennett to know he will be useful. Liahji, not so much.
I also think we will be lucky to hang onto Clarke and Ballard, but that is the business model the club have embarked on....to be honest, every player will have a price tag..thats where are. But, given how the recruitment has been handled, i'm confident we can replace...that said, to find someone of Amad's ability will be a stretch
I dont think it was his best game at all and a 7 stretches it. That said he grafted away in my opinion. He did cover a hell of a lot of ground, cutting off angles etc, but that was down to him largely being isolated a single man in midfield and he had to do it. Hard for him to make the tackles he normally does when it is 2 or even 3 on one in there because you go to one and they can just pop it off. His forward passing wasnt up to his usual incisive self and he didnt seem to want to miss a man out either. Was subdued as them all, but I dont think you can say be didnt put the work in. I think they all tried, but a mix of formation, probably tiredness and maybe niggles, along with a determined and well coached opposition did for us last night. Hard to pick a MoM to be honest.
The club have learned from so many mistakes of the past it's unreal. We can't expect anybody to get everything right all the time. We may not have achieved perfection but who does. Injuries have been our biggest problem this year but most of the time we've found a solution. I've got total confidence that the club are on an upward trajectory and we will see even better next year.
Agree with all of that. Lihadji is an odd one, massive reputation but seen nothing so far. Maybe with the season effectively over he will start next couple of games
It isnt all down to lack of a striker, we are the 3rd highest scorers in the division. I would say Cory Evans has been as big a miss.
Agree re Evans - games like last night and arguably Stoke would have been different with Evans in the middle of the park
It's no coincidence that his worst two games of the season (that I can remember at any rate which isn't saying much) were with Pritchard alongside him, it's too much to ask at this stage of his development really. Good experience for him in a way but Ekwah could and probably should have played.
Of course Amads don't grow on trees and it's unlikely we'll get anyone as good but you have to think that if there any others like him due to go on loan we'd be a top choice for prem sides due to how well it's gone for Amad, amongst other things. Tricky thing will be getting someone that doesn't just have the ability but is willing to graft and be a team player too.
The early yellow card blunted him. He couldn't make a tackle after that and became a bit of a passenger. He wasn't alone in having an off game, thought Batth, Gooch, Amad, Roberts & Pritchard were all poor. Pritchard played the occasion instead of the game and seemed more intent on scoring so we could shush the Huddersfield fans again
