I felt the same way after our 15/16 and 16/17 seasons. United were a mess, City were still hitting their stride under Pep and Liverpool were just starting to build under Klopp. I worried then and still worry now that we'd never get a better opportunity with so many factors aligning so favourably for us. And I get the same feeling now, albeit this time about the top 4, forget major trophies. There is a chance Chelsea will still be a mess next season as the owner resembles a child playing a computer game, but no way will Liverpool be this bad and as you've said - others will spend untold billions to make everyone else irrelevant. Then you have the likes of Brighton and Villa who I think will only kick on next season (the former in particular have such a strong scouting network they are utterly immune to being regularly strip-mined by bigger clubs). Honestly next season is such an unknown, I can see us finishing anywhere from 4th to 10th. And if Kane leaves, it will be a blessing if we finish as high as 10th.
Remember those days when Spurs were regarded as a Cup team? Look at this season. League Cup....lost to Notts Forest.FA Cup lost to Sheff U.....CL lost to Milan and couldn't score a goal in two games with them..(Not even mentioning surrendering 6 points to Arsenal in the league for not turning up.) Our players are being paid, aren't they?
Modric given the ball away twice in 12 mins. He usually only gives it away about 5 times a season! Clearly past it, they shouldn’t renew his deal, let him join Tottenham or something.
Napoli have a player called Ndombele, he is picking the ball up in midfield, holding it and laying in some nice passes to the forwards, we could really do with a player like him
He’s also just lost the ball which lead straight to a Milan goal Fantastic run by Leao though, impressed me against us.
Seriously? Thinking we should sign another team's squad player who is starting only their second game since January?
Rehiring Fat Frank as an interim is actually dumber than us sacking Conte but keeping Conte-lite. Cheers, Boehly. It’s nice knowing there’s a dumber **** out there than us.
Gotta feeling Boehly thought he was buying Modric when they spent £90m on Mudryk. Further strengthening my dumb **** comment above.
Chelsea could still get relegated. United, Brentford and Arsenal followed by six pointers against Bmouth and Forest before finishing the season with City and Newcastle. Yes, this is the shred of hope I am clinging on to to give this debacle of a season a silver lining. We lost to Bournemouth in order to relegate Chelsea. And we'll do the same against Leeds next month. This is the party line from now on.
They've got 3. Didn't register Aubameyang's ghost or the other Fofana. Broja's injured. Aubameyang's got 3 goals this season and two were in the CL v Milan.
