It’s been a good one for me. The mid-month monotony of eating habits is now well and truly behind me and only 3 or possibly even 2 more days to go. You know it’s nearly over when the maids leave to go to their home towns for Eid. Had to get a reserve one in. They reckon there will be ~123 million people travelling for Mudik this year as it was banned during the pandemic. Government are providing free buses for a lot of them. Amazing logistical task but they seem to be doing okay. Paid my Zakat Fitra down the mosque yesterday. It was either Rp40000 (about £2.25) or 3kg of rice per person. Mrs told me she had an Iftar at work (NHS) yesterday. Saff will be pleased to know the Junior Docters didn’t attend. Flying home on Saturday (first day of holiday). Just checked there are only 4 seats taken on whole flight. Enjoy the rest of your fasting.

The officials are out checking for the new moon right now with everyone glued to their tellys watching it live. Looks like Ramadhan could end tonight here but won't know for an hour or so. Its fairly easy to spot without a TV as the night long mobile drumming will kick-off immediately they know.
