All of a sudden the pressure is on West Brom ... ... biggest game of the season, live on TV and a big away support who won't give it up.
2nd half was dreadful. Could have been out of sight at half time. Nativity and allowing too much pressure to build costs us at home, again
Other teams will be buzzing with our result this evening. I know we can dress it up but it was a real marker chance to hit home our intentions and we blew it.
Other teams also know that if we had our main striker fit for even 10 more games we would be top 4. It is what it is. I'm looking forward to next season already
Sorry Prehab but I can't agree. Yes there's a lot of ifs and buts during this season but look where we are from last season. A lot of those players are playing their first season in the Championship after the club has spent 4 YEARS in league 1. I think just being in with the chance of the playoffs is an extremely successful season rather than a missed opportunity
It is a good season. I just see it as my eye test. I know we are better than most in play offs and the reasons are not there is the reasons I mentioned mate. Last year means **** all. It's about here and now and the opportunity that presents.
Unbeaten in six games now ... .... unlike Millwall, Preston, Blackburn. West Brom just drew at home to a rotten QPR side after being two ahead. None of these teams are any better than us, even with half of our players out.
I predicted 10th for this season. We've got a load of kids playing in the first team in their first season in the Championship who can only get better. Mistakes have been made but that's what makes football that opinionated. I would love to get to Wembley (and so would my grandson since he keeps bringing it up after I mentioned it last weekend!) But these kids have and will make mistakes - it's all part of the learning process for them
Credit to Warnock and Huddersfield, they came organised and had a good intensity about them. Not much in the way if ****housery or timewasting too which was good for a side fighting for survival. They started better owing to that intensity, the pressed us high and read we wouldn't put much in behind them. After 15-20 mins they were unable to keep that intensity level and we started to have moments, namely Clarke getting at their right back and chances dropped when he was able to get him facing his own goal and running at him. We scored, good pinch in the middle then a quality finish from Gelhardt through the defender, uses him to disguise the shot and pulls it into the corner. Ultimately we scored during our best spell in the game. They'll have got a Warnocking at HT about intensity, press and giving Jack Clarke too much space. They had much more of the first two in that first 15 mins of the second half and Jack Clarke was doubled up on or fouled pretty much every time he got the ball. We lacked that bit of killer instinct in the final third. I think realistically we haven't won three in a row all season and were unlikely to go on a massive run now seeing as we've seen a bit of a soft underbelly from us in home games. It is what it is, many including me expected a massive slog to stay up and we've gone way above and beyond that. Three more games to enjoy in whats been a really enjoyable season.
Of course. All for that. But its a frustrating one when standard things are not being done which result in points dropped.
Continually thinking we can playing attacking players in centre midfield. The vast majority of times we have done this we have failed to win.
