Changed my Nagelsmann vote to Slot. Even though I still want Nagelsmann, I just get the feeling we're basically his backup choice at the moment should one or two other jobs go elsewhere, whereas I feel if we approached Slot he'd take the job so long as he got the right assurances over contract length and backing (both with ins and outs). Been reading up more on him too and it just feels like he'd be a really good fit if we bought into his philosophy, feels like he'd be someone capable of playing a brand we'd all enjoy and would get a lot more out of certain players that have faltered/ been neglected under Conte and Stellini.

Slot 1st choice and Poch 2nd. Though I'd be happy/ content with the likes of Nagelsmann, Frank, Kompany, De Zerbi, Amorim, Potter, Rodgers (sorry, RCL!), Enrique... So I'm fully expecting something stupid like Bruno Lage or Scott Parker.

Is it bad that I’m wanting Kompany? Young manager who’s looking to prove himself and knows the PL. I think he could grow into the role as long as everyone is patient.

If Kompany has any sence he will stay at Burnley for the next season and test himself in the PL to see if he's ready for the step up.

Wouldn't he have more chance of success if he was coaching a better team?

    Why ?
Coaches need players receptive to their ideas and also capable of carrying them out.
Who would you suggest is a "better team" for coaches like Jose and Conte who have pretty much won things at every club they have been to.

I agree its a no brainer his stock is high, Burnley won't sack him if the wheels come off next season and from what I have seen of them they look a decent bet to stay up increasing his stock further.

I haven't previously really been in favour of Poch coming back but I am beginning to move in that direction as at least he knows the club and some of hurdles that he needs to overcome and is likely to be offered more patience than a completely new man, he may also have as a good a chance as anyone of getting Harry to stay. He also has a smaller ego than Naglesman, Rodgers and Enrique. Slot interests me but our recent acquisitions from the Eridivisie have failed to adapt and I worry that if he didn't start well he could be another Frank De Boer.

Chelsea are reportedly having talks with Ruben Amorim

I'm sure we'll be getting think pieces about him guiding Sporting to fourth in a three-team league soon...

I simply don't agree. A good coach can get better performance out of any set of players...that's almost the definition of a good coach. Jose and Conte have generally only won things when they have very strong players so perhaps they are not particularly good coaches. Neither did badly with us...we don't have a good enough squad to win the League.

Dan KP says we’re gonna interview Luis Enrique soon as he’s Paratici’s top target.

Says Poch ain’t on the radar. Kompany of interest (but Pete O’Rourke says he’ll reject us) as are Nagelsmann and Slot.

Why is Paratici even involved at this stage? If he's not going to be at the (or any) club for the next few years, his opinion carries about as much weight as the cafeteria staff's.

I would rather have Paratici making the football decisions rather than Levy. Whether he's going or not does not alter his football abilities.

Paratici's appeal is heard on Wednesday

Anyone else expecting the Stadium Pic of DOOM v2 to appeal by Friday morning?

    Didn’t Paratici appoint Nuno?

Only after Daniel had failed to land 7 or 8 better options. It was Nuno, Mason or Levy to take the return to training...

Paratici’s managerial targets have been less appealing than his player targets to be fair so between him and Levy it’s hard to say who you’d prefer to pick the manager, all I know is that it shouldn’t be hard to pick a good one this time around (at least from the outset) as there’s a lot of progressive coaches about who’d likely be tempted if we offered them a good deal. I think there’s about 7 or 8 managers I’d be happy with, so I just hope we don’t do another Nuno-esque type of bollocks, the odds for once should be in our favour to get it right.
