Let’s just hope it’s not a centre half, Patterson or Gelhardt, other than that I’d be comfortable with whoever comes in.
Good words from Warnock at the end, there: Huddersfield boss Warnock says Stewart is the best striker in the division when fit, and had wanted to sign him when in charge at Middlesbrough. "They have played most of the season without the best striker in the league which anybody would miss in [Ross] Stewart." Warnock said. "I have loved him for years and I remember going to watch [Charlie] Wyke up there and coming away saying that we needed to sign Stewart, but they never gave me the money up there at Middlesbrough! "I'm sure if he was back, they'd already be in the play-offs. But they have been ever so well with a young team and whenever I have watched them, they have been quite exciting. "I think Tony has done a fabulous job."
Brilliant achievement that. He is some player and so brave on the ball. I was looking through his stats after reading about Palace being keen on him. He has played 41 games this year. Only Patterson has more with 42. Neil also has 41. Clarke started 40 games and Neil 38. Only Baath is up there with 38 starts. Everybody else well behind. For any outfield player to play that many games is superb in the modern era really. If you think how many times Clarke gets fouled even more so. He is a tough lad as well as being classy. Also he has had 7 yellow cards which shows you a bit about him as well. He gets really stuck in which isnt always the case with wingers. There is a lot about him that Premier League clubs will love.
Very sensible for me a mere 3-2 to the cuddlies. I fully expect Amad to score again and I would love Geldhart to get a couple. A boring 1-0 win will do though. Cheers RTB for all your effort yet again.
The FIVE teams below Huddersfield have won a combined total of THREE games of the last TWENTY FIVE. During that period Huddersfield have won THREE themselves. Based on those stats and the fact they have Cardiff then two home games, one of which is Reading on the last day ... ... I reckon Warnock will think a point tomorrow would be like Willy Wonka's golden ticket. We need to send Grandpa Joe back into his twenty year coma please log in to view this image
Mowbray has served me more helpings of humble pie than anyone in my 60 odd years ... ... I've never enjoyed anyone's interviews more, he gets the balance right in almost every situation. However there's been a significant chance in his demeanour in this interview! There are no more jokes, no more biscuits and no more joshing with the media ... ... it's all become very direct and he's thrown the responsibility onto the players whereas he's previously protected them. This is serious now, he wants results and making no bones about it. "OK lads, I've done all I can, now it's down to you." It's also clear he realises the supporters have turned up both at home, 35k+ again tomorrow, and will sell out WBA and Preston. He really does 'get it'.
Tanks again for your efforts RTB. Cracking thread. It's really all about the the 3 points, performances aren't really that important at the minute. Warnock will make it difficult but I think we will have enough to take the 3 points. Home win for me. Just.
On the radio this morning they mentioned that Luke’s Missus has not yet had the baby and that he’s down to play. If she’s anything like Luke she will probably keep it in until the game is over.
