And so it goes on. Beyond ridiculous. ..... https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spo...tm_campaign=hcfc_newsletter2&utm_medium=email Hull City are unlikely to welcome back any of their injured players in time to face Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Wednesday evening, according to boss Liam Rosenior. Already without leading scorer Oscar Estupinan, Benjamin Tetteh, Aaron Connolly and Cyrus Christie, City were unable to call upon Alfie Jones, Tobias Figueiredo and Ryan Longman for Saturday night's 0-0 draw at Blackburn Rovers, so drafted in youngsters Harry Vaughan and Alfie Taylor. Though progress is being made by Oscar, Connolly has suffered a setback in his recovery and though Jones, Figueiredo and Longman's issues are not serious, it's likely only Longman has a chance of making the midweek journey to Teesside. Rosenior will also hope there is no reaction to a heavy knock Dimitrios Pelkas took in stoppage time at Ewood, after he collided with Sammie Szmodics. "He's felt his quad which is not ideal," Rosenior said of Alfie Jones. "It's not serious but it's not one that I can take a risk with.
Depends whether BHA want any money for him, he has a year left on his deal with them. A season long loan might work out for both parties (us and him, not BHA)
Liam Rosenior has joked that so bad is Hull City's injury situation as they prepare for the trip to free-scoring Middlesbrough on Wednesday night, that he may have to drag Andy Dawson out of retirement.
I think what Rossie is doing with the squad with so many injury's is nothing short of amazing in all honesty! lack of strikers will hurt anybody but the way we are playing - solid at the back and try nick one I mean, what else can we do? for me the results taking into account the injury situation I have no complaints at all
Imagine what he could have done with a fully fit squad... He's 6th since he's been here even with the injuries.
Same goes for Pelkas. Are Fener' gonna trigger his option and if not, we get him for 15/20k pw might represent value.? Not a chance at what I think we're paying him currently though.
Is there a problem with how our medical team is setup? Obviously injuries are apart of football but why have we had it so bad? Only thing I can think of is we’ve targeted out of favour players that haven’t played much, hence why we were able to get them
It's not just us. Blackburn had 7 out, wba similar and Sunderland have had no strikers for ages. Some football folk are talking about the short pre season and the stop-start nature of the season to accommodate the world cup as a possible reason. It's affected a lot of clubs this year for some reason - though all clubs occasionally have spells like this every few years it seems more prevalent across the board. Our medical setup is the same as its always been - we don't change it with every manager but I have heard a a suggestion Shota had them under prepared for the physical aspect of this league league in his one and only championship pre season. He was evidently under prepared for everything else this season so there's possibly something in that. All he seemed to care about in Turkey was head tennis.
Results tonight could mean we'd be absolutely mathematically safe from relegation- not that I think we wouldn't be safe now anyway with 53 points.
