Didnt argue with my return as got £624 ... seems I actually put on more than I thought!... changed my bet to do 5 horses not 4 part way through doing it, and first 2 [capo and corach] had done at £30 ew and 3 at £20 ew ..

trainer blames protester for horses death... tend to agree .. horses get wound up and lose concentration also they like racing and get used to the format .. stables ... .to pre ring ... to dress ring ... to canter down to start .... line up ... occassional turn around on the spot before tape goes up and away they go ... take away any one and there is confusion .... strange over the past few years just 2 ave have fallen unseated at first 2 fences this season 8 and 1 died!

    used to keep 12 horses!

The world is just full of complainers
If it’s not Animals Rising it’s Just Stop Oil, Friends of the Earth, BLM, Antifa, Greenpeace, Care For Calais, NRA,
What I’d like on a personal level is for Bristol City Council to spend sons of my £240 Council Tax on making the roads fit for purpose and filling in the potholes
Anyone causing disruption like the people at the National should be made to do community service for a couple of years every weekend and then see how much spare time they have for spoiling other people’s day out

I would disagree with your comments to Greenpeace. These are a "professional" out fit that do bring to the attention some of the bad things countries do to our planet. They rarely if ever cause disruption or get arrested for the acts they carry out. They "highlight" as opposed to disrupt other parties . unlike causing motorists into polluting the planet having to wait for an hour whilst they are removed / unglued .. or like at Aintree ..no idea that what they are standing for .. is very detrimental to the horses. Horses are an animal of habit!

I was just listing a number of protest groups
In Greenpeace I have little to complain about

Amnesty are another but in the UK they seem to be full of lefties who seem to revel in unlimited immigration and open borders
The people that the authorities also need to go after are the likes of Stonewall and Mermaids for teaching and supporting this gender ideology nonsense

Aintree is a bit extreme, whether the protesters made things worse is a debatable point, horses have died previously at the Grand National when there has been no protests, and what obviously is fact is the horse wouldn’t have died had it not have been there.

I guess the debate is whether the risks of jumping such extreme fences is a risk worth taking for the horses. I used to like it, now I think it’s cruel and too extreme. There are fatalities at other races, but the National does seem to have had more than its fair share over the years. Call me a leftie if you like, it just doesn’t sit well with me.

I hate it when there are fatalities. It's horrible.
I'm not sure banning the sport is the answer though.
They have already taken some steps on the back of previous fatalities - like abolishing the water jump and adjusting the fences. Perhaps some further 'tweaks' are needed, like reducing the number of participants maybe?
I used to ride a bit when I was younger and horses love to run and jump.

poor comment your last 13 words ... in a pro rata Sport analysis sports people regularly doing the sport they love!!!!
Your latter part argument would say no breathing thing should do anything because they might die!

they do, watch them in fields or moors or elsewhere with or without humans in attendance.
Horses are quite clever... when they unseat a rider or fall and rider falls off they get up and continue ... on occassions some have almost completed the course and odd few have kept going and won .. didnt count as no jockey! It is sad when you lose a horse I did in the 80's was worth £2000 ... was a filly by Precipice wood .....

I love horses and horse racing, ridden them and part own one.
Horses love racing, it's in their blood.
Just as it's in a cat's make up to kill birds, mice etc. It's not for food, they just like killing.
You try stopping our cat, little sod.
I could argue the horse is the most looked after animal in the world. Other than our cat.
I can't believe the 5star stables, swimming, sauna, 24hour vet on call and the best food delivered in bed.
Remember we can't get a doctor's appointment for love or money.
It's no good talking to those protesters, the wouldn't understand why they were responsible for the death of Hill Sixteen.

    They're woke and lefties.

Cats kill because it in their nature! they dont just kill for the sake of it .. the item they kill is usually brought to where they wish to show their gratitude .. your house often ... We have 3 cats wandering around within my view never seen 1 of them kill a bird/ mouse/vole yet .. not to say they dont but should they then likely they consume it!
On the Mendips near our hut the neighbour had 6 chickens 2 of them would catch a vole / field/wood mouse and swallow it whole .. we would be outside having a snack or chatting with chickens wandering less than 4 m away .. we were unaware so many little furries were so close! Their cat would sit there sort of lying down watching and occassionally just flick the end of its tail at times after the chicken had caught and about to swallow a furry

Really, I’ve never watched a cat race , not sure a rider would fit on a cat either <laugh><laugh>

Besides if horses are so keen naturally to race each other and jump, why bother putting jockeys on them?, just let them race.

that is because they need to know when to start.. when to stop and because it is a sport with a level playing field ... they all carry same weight / or get handicapped ............

All human interaction with animals is unnatural Ashton. No other species keeps pets, but as long as they are treated well (most are) then the pets grow to love their owners.
There is a special bond between humans and horses - similar to that with dogs.
When I used to ride regularly, my horse would come running over to the gate ready to have his harness on, eager to be taken out for a ‘hack’. He loved being ridden.
Horse racing isn’t perfect and ways of reducing danger to both horse and rider must always be sought for, but there is REAL animal cruelty going on elsewhere in the world.
Those protesters would be better spent gathering outside the embassies of countries where animals are REALLY abused. The way horses and donkeys are treated in some (mainly African) countries is horrendous. They are often worked to death.

When we were first married our cat at the time brought in a live Rat (we lived in Pucklechurch at the time) and unbeknown to us put it under the sofa !

The cat we have now, when he was younger, brought in a live, although badly injured (his doing!) Pigeon. My son and I were at the City ground and came home to my Wife and Daughter in Law sponging Pigeon blood from the walls and sweeping up masses of feathers !
