It was a good run in the EPL with lots to feed off but it’s over for now. Ah well.

I’ve pivoted to watching the EFL highlights on ITV since the start of March, to get some studying done before next season. There was a time where I could’ve named several players from pretty much every team in the pyramid… that time has, er, passed let’s say.

    Swotting up to do…

Bring back the old teleprinter that shakily typed out Accrington Stanley 2 - Soton........ ........ .......... .......1

The hesitation, the anticipation was mind-blowing and whilst we're at can we have a no-nonsense blunt Yorkshireman manager, a ginger headed Scottish flying winger, a dim-witted balding centre-forward who kicks lumps out of goalies and scores diving-headers and above all a captain that gees up the team and occasionally loses his rag trying to install a bit of passion into the team.

PS Season over, rebuild the gas holder.

Similar sentiments from me, hence my opting out the last month or so. Feel better for it to be honest. No disappointing Saturdays, and I get a few things done!

We've been sliding down for years, but the irony is when we do get some money and new owners, a combination of awful decisions from them has helped to fast forward our drop. Not sure if Selles thinks he is being pragmatic, or if it is a case of not fitting his football ideology, but to not use Tall Paul seems ridiculous. He looks ok from what I have seen, and would certainly provide focal point. We have JWP, Perraud and Bree that could provide decent deliveries. When he does come on, we don't change our play to suit. Pointless. For me, I'd rather play a progressive Ralph style, but if we have the weapons use then.

I stopped watching MOTD except for rare occasions, mainly because I just find the format and presenters just so annoying to give a couple of hours of my life in watching it.

We are better than you think mate. The all time premier league table is a good guide as it shows consistency over the last 30 years.

    Saints are 11th

    1. Man Utd
    2. Arsenal
    3. Chelsea
    4. Liverpool
    5. Spurs
    6. Man City
    7. Everton
    8. Newcastle
    9. Aston Villa
    10. West Ham
    11 SOUTHAMPTON
    12. Blackburn
    13. Leeds
    14. Leicester

The good news is that Blackburn in 12th are 116 points behind us, so our 11th place is secure for a few seasons

Makes it more of a shame that all the hard work of previous squads have been let down badly from the current shower of ****.

Looking at your list of people who can **** right off It would be funny if Walcott got his first management appointment with us. As many have said he is a big influence in the dressing room :emoticon-0102-bigsm. If that happens it I take it I will be added to your list? <laugh>

It’s ironic that the last time we relied on a team of inexperienced youngsters we were relegated and this year we’ve relied on a team of inexperienced youngsters. Why did the idiots think there would be a different outcome.

First thing to do next season as part of the rebuild is to get a proper striped shirt back. This season`s looks like a boring jam sandwich, totally uninspiring and devoid of any excitement. A bit like what`s been filling said shirts.

I was thinking about this just today and in principle, I agree, my only caveat would be we also have dark navy shorts and socks as we did with the very first stripe shirts the club ever wore.

Because it was more fun than watching the actual Saints I made up this for next season, we win the league and lost only 4 games scoring over 100 goals. Also my medication has run out. Saints-23-24.jpg
