I’d say Trippier and Schar were far worse than Burn today. Villa walked through both as if they were invisible time after time.

Uefa are bringing in new rules that you can only loan out 6 players each season I believe - or somethjng along those lines, maybe a phased approach over a few years. Can’t remember the exact detai but should stop clubs like chelsea from buying **** tonne of 19/20 year olds. Sending them all out on loan for 3 years then selling for profit.

Brighton also do very similar stuff as well although goes under the radar a bit more

First bit good to know. I hope they are. Amazing as to why it should be phased in though. They, UEFA, decide it’s not good for young players but then decide to phase it in so as to minimise impact on those Clubs who are doing it.

Not heard about Brighton being in that grouping before but assume with you being a die hard Brighton fan then you will know. <whistle>

just checked and it’s sort of phased. Only foreign loans but expect domestic leagues to bring it in by 2025 by looks of it.

FIFA has announced new loan rule plans that will limit clubs to six loan signings and six loan exits per season.
New regulations capping the number of international loans in and out at any club are set to come into force in July, however, players aged 21 or under and club-trained players will be exempt from the new guidelines.
The rules do not cover domestic loans, but FIFA has said national associations must bring their regulations in line within three years - so by July 1, 2025 at the latest.

Brighton got 12 out on loan atm. Most of the South American/Polish guys they bring in go out on loan for a season in Europe and to their Belgium club that Tony Bloom also owns.

It works for some, caicedo & Mitoma both had loans to europe before coming back to Brighton first team. They actually buy a lot of players up to 10m and look to loan them out and flip them round for bit of money or get them into first team. Interesting to see how that model works with the new loan rules though

I think it’s most effective with club trained youngsters and under 21 players anyway so with six on top of that it still leaves a heck of a lot of scope
