I'm wondering if Newcastle might have quite simply burned out ?

Is howeball similar to bielsaball and are Newcastle simply out of gas?
Is there really such a thing ?
    Will Newcastle bounce back ?

All teams play the same amount of games.
If some players are bunt out due to style of play it’s down to the manager to use his squad.

    But..

Isak is new so can’t be burnt out
Wilson has been injured a lot so hasn’t played lots of games
Miggy injured so he’s had a rest
Pope has barely had to make saves so can’t be burnt out
Bruno had that ban and Joe was out for a bit too
Oh and the World Cup gave a lot of our players a rest too.

All teams play the same number of games but it’s what you do in them that can burn a player out.

I believe there will be an element of this. I wasn’t able to watch the game yesterday so can’t comment on that game. But our style of play I believe is more intense than most other Clubs’ style.

We also have a smaller number of playable players in our squad able to play at this standard and level than others at the top of the table due to years of inadequate funding. This results in our not being able to rotate players as much.

CC is right occasionally and this journey is going to have bumps in it but at least we are now on a journey and not simply stagnating stuck at the bus stop because your mam wouldn’t give you the penny for the fare. We are the lucky ones as we get to enjoy the ride. We will be the ones reminding others to come what it used to be like and not to worry that Penarol just beat us in the World Club Final.

    No, no, no and yes.

We were bad yesterday, but the simple fact is Villa were awesome and they'll steamroller any team in the division when they're playing like that. They won't be able to keep those standards up all season though so i don't see them challenging for the title next season.

We had won our last 5 games before yesterday and Villa had taken 19 points from a possible 21...when 2 teams in form like that meet, something has to give, and it was us.

It was just a big crash after a great run, but in reality it's just one game. We'll regroup and we have the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways when we play a dreadful Spurs team in a week.

It wasn’t losing at home to Bournemouth. We just need to regroup for one more push. Almirons back, Targett too, Longstaff rested. Gordon’s still bedding in.

And at 2-0 down we had a couple of chances to get one back which could’ve had a huge impact. But Villa were excellent. One of many bumps in the road. As of now we’re still third.
