Remember they were 10 points clear of us only a few weeks ago. If only we'd have had a couple more wins in our awful run of form we'd be well clear. But we were well out of it a few weeks ago, what a remarkable run, haven't stormed it but its now in our hands. I'm sure there will be a few more bumps in the road but it wouldn't be ITFC if there weren't

One thing i will say is....we were all calling for a settled and consistent starting 11, it's no coincidence that since we have stopped all this stupid rotation....we have gone on this run!!

For me it's the four January signings that have really turned it around.

I think this was always going to come. Going all the way back to McKenna’s first few games when the players were getting used to playing it around the back, it’s been a progression. The difference is making sure of the finish and playing it quick in attacking areas instead of allowing defenders time and peppering the goal with half chances.

That little bit of extra quality from Broadhead and Luongo has taken us up a gear, too.

    Definitely a combination of things:

    - settled starting line up
    - more balanced forward line with Broadhead playing more on the left, Davis used to have the whole side to himself. Chaplin being the only no.10 and not getting in the way of Burns quite so much. Also Hirst stretches the back line more than Ladapo did. All of this pulls defenders out of shape far more and gives us more space in the attacking third
    - we get the ball forwards much quicker and are more willing to play off the second ball
    - we have 2 very experienced CMs who are more than capable physically, the most balanced CM pairing we've had in years
    - our subs appear to be less preemptive than before

Credit to McKenna, he definitely seems to learn and make changes even if it takes a few games for him to do so. Take last season we were awful at set pieces when McKenna came in that's certainly been fixed this season. Then on our poor run of form this season we were too pedestrian and bar Burns our forward line was changed on a whim, he didn't fix it immediately but we're certainly a different team now.

Even though our early season form was good how we are playing now is up another level, we will have the odd day where we under perform but it's actually hard to see a weakness now. Anything can happen and I'm certainly not counting our chickens yet but the team we have now is too good for this division and I'd wager this team could also quite comfortably be a top 10 Championship team

Made a rare post on Monday, and it all went wrong. So refrained from posting until full time.

Top scorers in Efl. Best form in League One. The charge to the championship (and hopefully beyond) continues.

Nothing settled yet, only mathematically confirmed playoff's today, but looking forward and feeling confident for the final 5.

Fantastic performance and the icing on the cake was Sheff Wed losing. As we’ve been saying, the combination of the 4 January signings (all of whom improved the team) and keeping a settled team has launched us on this amazing run. Happy that Chaplin finally got his hat trick today - Ladapo probably would have got his but for the professional foul. If the game is close, I understand why you would do it but they were already 5-0 down so not sure but can anyone remember the last time (if ever) we’ve had 2 hat tricks in the same game - so close. Just to say. I thought Morsy and Luongo absolutely bossed the game today, I know Chaplin will get MOM but the 2 midfielders were great. Bring on Port Vale - they had 2 red cards today so I’m guessing players will be missing against us

We are now watching.the best football that I have seen at Ipswich for 40 years. Light years from ME's dismal reign.

I am gonna try get a home ticket and drive up for one of the last games, to taste the atmosphere.. Can someone tell me the best way, try twtd ticket returns, call the club, online returns? I have not been a season ticket holder for 10 years.

There are some tickets available for Port Vale if you’re quick gaffer. Online / phone the ticket office and watch for small releases of tickets. I wouldn’t mess about with social media - sure fire way to get scammed!
