When we went 2-0 down in minutes I feared we would lose our place in the group of thirteen EFL Clubs who haven't been beaten by three clear goals yet this season But we seem to have stopped the rot
We took a spanking today Just about the last thing Charlton could claim from this Godawful season was that nobody else had really thumped us. Well that's over now. I don't care if it's the possible League One Champions who did it. Tenth place was our high water mark. We're a million miles from pipe dreams of promotion. This needs sorting in the Summer.
That was terrible. 6-0 actually flattered us, we looked like a bunch of part timers. Nobody came out of that with any credit. Pathetic passing, and we couldn't even control the ball. Where was the spirit we showed at Old Trafford? Best bit was listening to Brownie and Curbs afterwards. And the scones I made after the third goal went in.
Just wondering if that might be a good thing. We can argue about how Burton put us under the cosh at home, or a poor performance at Bristol, but that showed just how deep are the weaknesses in our squad. Any incoming owner needs to forget a break even policy unless they are happy to keep hosting Accrington and Fleetwood in a near empty Valley. No leaders, a lack of any real talent apart from Rak Sakyi, who'll be gone. We need a big change here, and yesterday showed that. Let's hope whoever is in charge in the summer looks at that and reads it correctly.
The takeover hasn't actually gone through yet, and games like yesterday's don't make me any more confident that it will. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic.
