What is the point of signing Paul if we don't even start him? I get it against the top teams that we want to press. Roy is know for having Palace sit back and hit on the counter which make the press useless. Give our team a target man to get crosses in for.
It’s becoming more and more obvious that he is a Carrillo type signing in that he clearly was a manager who was on his last legs’ choice. Maybe the new manager will rate him higher but it’s clear Selles doesn’t at all Assume Sulemana will be up front with Aribo/Alcaraz trying to play him in and use his pace
I get that but Carillo had a poor track record before joining us. Paul on the other hand had a good goal record in his league and in the European competitions. For a team not scoring, surely that is the starting point for any manager even if he doesn't rate a certain player.
Genk are certainly missing his goals as their form has dipped since he left them. Plus Carrillo was given at least a dozen games IIRC, Tall Paul has barely had a sniff.
