In 20 years of studying Mars, that's the most bizarre rock I have ever seen. I cannot wait to have a microscopic image of this one...It is part of a Gigapan of Gale crater that you can see here: http://gigapan.com/gigapans/232135?fbclid=IwAR1MXfigyIre8EsELjH3xeN9jN6XN4orN9Z6GfjC9A-8XVPIhaEBzVAaIU0

Got roped into watching that by her indoors, who is partial to a bit of a conspiracy theory now and then. Quite entertaining so long as you realise it's a little bit of archaeology mixed with a load of absolute bollocks.

Bio Mechanical robots with downloaded human consciousness will be the humanoids that will explore other galaxies and start a new generation of humans

As much as it's all fascinating, human or robot, we still can't travel fast enough. How long for this Jupiter exploration is it eight years?

Our human bodies would not survive the journey unless we were is suspended animation, the bio mechanicals would work as long as they were powered and wouldn't need food etc, and it would be when the earth was no longer habitable so a long, long time in the future

I watch Ancient Aliens on the History Chanels and every time they come up with a new theory I am thinking somehow I already guessed or knew that

Weird at times but when you know you know

We'll find the answer to faster travel one day. If we don't we become extinct eventually, no biggy lol.

If the universe eventually implodes on itself, all evidence of life will be destroyed anyway. Maybe a black hole is nothing more than a refuge chute.

Probably happened a couple of times already, but is trillions of years in the future

I don't know what the theories are on previous implosions, how would we know?

Maybe we will never have the intelligence as mere humans to understand what is going on.

Does that mean no more sex? Just androids with human consciousness uploaded to them kinda thing? If so and the natural human body is not necessary or unable to travel the stars then how do we give birth to a genuine human consciousness without the actual natural human sex to create said consciousness?
All fun things to think about when stoned <laugh>

This fella claims to be a decendant of humans, from our future apparently. He dont seem very mechanical looking but i guess that doesn't guarantee hes fully biological either.

We have sex bots already, the next step will be bio mechanical ones that are just like real people......Blade Runner

I have always thought that the grey aliens were us from the future where reliance on machines left us physically weak and that is why they collect DNA etc

Is it just about the humans though?

I do wonder if that is the case then basically we fck off taking other species with us. All the incredible amazing creatures we have on Earth will just be gone forever.

If there's a way of preserving life in some deep sleep hybernation that would be better as it could be applied to other creatures. Like a space travel version of Noah's ark. Or find a way where they could survive without it e.g. through controlled reproduction but that might be difficult to manage or sustain.

I have seen a theory that Noah's Ark was a collection every creatures DNA and that the Ark itself was barely big enough take the human passengers

We are on the verge of being able to create humans and animals to order and sex would be just for recreation and future generations would be bred by artificial insemination and born from pods rather than wombs

The progress we are making is both fascinating and horrifying
