Well, that's a surprise! I was sure that Trump was on to something when he said it was Biden that was the source of the leak!
But not in the context you quote - I was referring to all strikers - not doctors specifically. Adding "die" also took the comment to extremes. I maintain that there is no point in holding a strike if you do not intend to cause harm - unless you considered your job so worthless that abandoning it would have no effect - and in that case how is striking going to achieve anything?
Apart from your first line I agree with you. There is a difference though between motive and action. I suspect all strikers have what for them at least are good motives - even if it is on a personal level to ensure their family's wellbeing. As I said though in the post above there is no point in striking if you do not intend to cause harm or disruption to anybody - and in most cases that is to uninvolved members of the general public. Somebody who robs a post office or bank may well be only trying to feed their family but nobody condones their action. We live in a democracy and if voters are not prepared to vote for a party that will look after the wellbeing of ordinary people they have made their choice. If you vote for ****s you suffer what they benevolently give you - scraps.
One wrong move and that twat was gone. He's not in a position to access that sensitive ****. Somebody else ****ed up.
I really don't agree or relate to that at all. I've been on strike before and there was absolutely no thought whatsoever of intending to harm anyone. I don't equate harm to effect either. The sole purpose of striking for me was to make those responsible for pay and conditions value the work my colleagues and I do and to ensure we have the resources and salary to do it well. That is the only effect I was after. It was a message to them, not a deliberate intention to harm anyone. Btw just to add something from your original post. I dont put you in the bracket of some right wing advocate. You mentioned a better system of governance. I agree but it won't happen on its own, it will happen by ppl, like those in public services, showing their discontent through things like industrial action. I think many of us have waited far too long for it, shown good faith and patience over the past 13 years, through austerity and the like. And even though public service workers have never been the cause of the economic and finacial difficulties this country has faced in that time, we've been the ones making the sacrifices... often while those responsible have been recompensed or lined their pockets. I genuinely dread the state this current corrupt lot in charge are going to leave this country in by the time they leave office, and I think we will see the repercussions of it for decades. I'll have spent my whole working life like some sacrificial lamb waiting for a more utopian form of governance and tbh all I can say is fck that.
On the plus side, it has been fun watching one journalist after another make it obvious they don't know what Discord is...
Good post and I share many of your views on how things are. I also totally accept that individuals involved in strikes focus on what they want rather than the effect it causes. However if a strike did not cause some negative effect then it would have no purpose. If you had a strike and life for everyone continued as normal you would not expect anyone to even notice let alone redress any wrongs. Those who call strikes are not stupid and generally look for maximum disruption - like targeting bank holidays and the like. Still enough as I think we are both entitled to our views and they just happen to differ in some detail.
Oh boy, you'd be amazed how often I've seen the exact same tweet but to a parade of interchangeable ****wits today...
Mackenzie is still one of the most idiotic, objectionable fascist ****s alive, even in the stiff competition around for that title!
