The most sensible and least offensive comment on this thread so far. Now, run along sweet cheeks, men are talking <laugh>

Only joking, but you knew that eh?! Seriously though, ****** is used everyday to describe an idiot or someone who is a bit slow, it actually means "backward". I doubt that many who use it are referring to a disability or mental handicap.

Oh, and if you find pictures of people with Downes Syndrome funny, you need to get out more because technically you're ******ed for laughing at it. Unless you're about 8 years old in which case I apologise.

Stephen Fry's Planet Word was a really good show, and I enjoy the likes of Frozen Planet etc. Apart from that it's slim pickings.

I rarely use it, but it's pathetic when people jump on their high horse with the 'imagine if your son/brother etc. was ******ed'. Erm? Yeah learn the difference between trying to offend and just saying something without serious meaning. Also ******ed is OFFICIALLY another word for stupid. Barton is within rights to use it.

Depends what you're into...I quite like Him and Her on BBC3. Bit of a poor man's Royle Family (before Royle Family became a poor man's Royle Family). Ricky Gervais has a new program out with Warren something or other who played Willow (hands down my favorite film as a child) which looks pretty good.

Derren Brown's 'The Experiment' is pretty interesting and I personally really like Misfits on E4!

I've been learning things about retareded fuel injection timing today. How very dare they. ........it's all in the context. Sticking pictures up is a bit harsh like.

It doesn't bother me personally, but the pictures were a step too far for me. It's easy to say the above, but people will always take offence. Their opinion that they don't like to hear it is just as valid as your opinion that you don't care.

Comedy shows I do enjoy. I really like An Idiot Abroad, even though i'm not usually a fan of Gervais and his writing.

Oh I agree with you, the pictures were just sick. That's the sort of thing that just isn't funny.

Idiot abroad is always a laugh as long as you suspend your belief that its as natural and unscripted as they'd suggest.

I absolutely love Gervais' writing. I genuinely think there is only line/scene in the whole of The Office which isn't brilliant script writing. Similarly Extras does everything you want in a celebrity based sit com and it even made Ross Kemp seem like a good lad!

Whilst I agree it's ridiculous and stupid to get all over PC on the use of the words '******ed' or 'gay' etc (I, like many people, use them in everyday conversation. it's just slang), I for one do not condone members of this forum posting pictures of people with Downs Syndrome and stating that they are just hilarious and 'who wouldn't laugh at them'. That's just mean and downright ****ing uneducated. This coming from the same person who wished cancer upon Tash.

I mean, it's all fine calling your mates ******ed and gay in that way, but literally taking the piss out of someone because of their disease/syndrome/whatever? That's a line I don't wanna see anyone cross. I know the type of members who have made such comments/would make such comments and in future I'm not letting it go again. I'm sorry. This isn't a high horse or anything. I dislike it when people get itchy when other people use words like ******ed. No one's actually taking the piss out of people with disabilities, etc, it's just a laugh. But when it's literally laughing at a person because they have that disability? Come on

The League of Gentlemen was one of the most original comedies of recent years. Great writing.

See this came out while I was a bit too young to really get it, and haven't ever been able to get into it?
