So you don't think Ten Hag fooked that up tonight with too many substitutions? I know it's always a gamble when you make subs, but the manager takes the praise when a sub comes on and scores, so surely they have to take some flack when it fooks up the momentum and goes completely tits up, like it did. Afterall it was Ten Hag that decided to bring Maguire on.
If you win the Europey it doesn’t really matter where you finish but being 17 points off the top is pretty **** for any Man U team.
Win the LC, in the QF of the Europy, SF of the FA Cup and aiming for top 4. We've played more games than any other club in the top 5 European leagues. In a way victims of our own success which aint a bad thing but we don't have the squad to dominate in all competitions and something's got to give.
Defo the manager to blame for me. Only too often I've pointed at players like Maguire, but Ten Hag made the decisions on the changes, but he likes shuffling around bits of paper, then when it goes tits up he stands there like a rabbit in the headlights.
Yeh I somewhat agree. It weren't just the subs but the timing of them. If we'd come out with intensity and dominated in that 2nd half then fair enough, but we were poor. Taking off Bruno and Martial at around 75 mins, then Antony I think was poor timing. Bruno is out for the second leg anyway and we have Forest on the weekend. He should've stayed on longer imo.
I agree. Obviously hindsight is a wonderful thing, it's always a gamble and you never know what the outcome is going to be, but tonight Ten rolled the die and it wasn't pretty.
Maguire came on because Varane went off 'injured', so that substitution isn't really relevant to this conversation. The ones that are, are taking off Fernandes, Antony and Martial. It took the impetus away and made us seemingly looking to just close it out. Didn't work. We then get a bad injury and a couple of own goals It's not all on ten Hag, but some is.
I think United just suffering from the league cup winners curse tbh seen it before where teams who win it fall off a cliff afterwards for the remainder of the season
I think Shishkin will win the King George. Gerri Colombe the Gold cup. Constitution Hill will go for the Arkle or the Turners and win whichever race he enters.
Snapped Achilles that mate, had one myself and thought someone had hit me in the back of the ankle with a baseball bat.
Dya think it has something to do with the LC happening right bang in the middle of the season? Some players heads just drop and they think "won a trophy, job done."
