Just to underline your point, I give you the example of Malcolm 111 of Scotland. After The Battle of Hastings, the two most senior members of the Royal House of Wessex, were Margaret and her Brother Edgar. To escape from William and his Norman Army, they headed North to escape to Scotland, ruled by Malcolm 111. One report says that their ship, caught in bad weather, took shelter in the small port of Sunderland, on the NE Coast of England. when by coincidence Malcom was sheltering along with a small army that had been taking advantage of the confusion in England at that time. Malcom took this pair back home with hm and fell for the Lady, Fortunately, Malcom's wife died, mysteriously, soon afterwards and the pair married. Margaret was a devout Catholic and was responsible for introducing that faith to Scotland, at the expebse of The Celtic Church. She was rewarded by being made a Saint. But this couple had a large family. A number of their sons became Kings of Scotland, Including David 1. David was friendly with Henry who became King of England as Henry 1, and he married David's sister Edith. On arriving in England her name was changed to Matilda. This was how the Blood-line of King Alfred was re-introduced to the English Throne. ---------- I've been fond of this example for many years, and you have just knacked it by pointing out that William already carried that blood-line. Thanks a bunch.
Poor Hazza going to his dad's coronation all on his lonesome. Meghan's a coronation chicken by the looks of it.
Harry ( & Meghan) have been making complete Tits of themselves. All the stuff he has done with say INVICTUS has now been overshadowed. However one thing he has been right about is the ever ambitious Mrs Tampon! Lizzy will be turning in her grave.
Took me a while. He hates her and come across as very bitter about William. Everything else is smoke and mirrors!
“If you want to be normal and outside of the Royal Family, **** off. Just **** off and shut up.” John Lydon, about Harry & Meghan.
Given the background, it's not really surprising but I'd always thought the official line was that they got on well and that Harry and William were happy that their Dad was happy. It's a bit of a shame that some sections of the public, who don't really know anything about Camilla, still have to be negative about her because she's regularly praised as being one of the more personable, likeable, and down to earth royals.
You could equally say the same about some of the public who are positive about her ... ... she seems to be doing a decent job from what I've seen though.
You could say that, but it's not hard these days to find out a little bit of information about things.
Many people will always believe she was the fundamental reason for Diana's unhappiness and the ultimate breakdown in her marriage to Charles.?
I suppose that's true although with any of them, from Camilla to Meghan, you'll find equal amounts of pro and anti information ... ... what's amusing is how firm people's feelings are despite how little information they actually have. I'm happily ambivalent about them all.
Clearly was. Neither she or Charles behaved very well over that. If he'd been allowed to marry who he wanted, rather than being obliged to marry a virgin, none of them might have ended up in this situation. I'm not sure the very specific 'section of the public' that I was referring to would have anything good to say about Diana either, mind.
Why not, it's just people's opinions, just like positive ones ... ... if we can't say anything negative about anyone it would be a very strange world.
No opinion about her either way, don't hear much about her other than what she has been up to in her Royal Duties. Which is the way it should be! She will never be good enough because of Diana to some people, I'm young enough that all I really remember about Diana was the press hounded the life out of her when she was seeing Dodi Fayed. I would have believed Harry and William got on well with her and aslo that Harry was happy being The Spare as he puts it until the last few years. Now I think he resents the fact that all because of the order they were born he isn't as important as his brother, everything about his rebellion seems off to me, almost like he is finding things to try and explain why he is such a dick!
I suppose I just find it tiresome when people constantly churn out negativity based on nothing more than prejudice. Unless there is some basis for criticism, 'happy ambivalence' seems like a more sensible position to take.
She's certainly grafted, says very little that's controversial in public and she seems to keep him on an even keel. Quite the opposite to Meghan whose addiction to public drama is well known. What actually goes on behind the scenes, nobody really knows. The media will print without thinking absolutely anything anyone even loosely connected to them says, so it all has to be taken with a pinch of salt.
