On Monday, Joel Piroe scored both goals as the Swans delivered a heavy blow to Wigan’s fading Championship survival hopes. Piroe produced two clinical finishes before missing out on a first-half hat-trick when he struck a post. The near-miss did not matter for Swansea as they dominated a Wigan side who lacked attacking inspiration. Earlier the same day, substitute Ryan Hedges rescued a point for play-off hopefuls Blackburn Rovers with a dramatic injury-time equaliser against relegation-threatened Huddersfield Town. A point at the John Smith's Stadium initially gave Rovers a two-point cushion to seventh spot, but they only remained in the top six on goal difference after Preston beat Reading later on Monday. Jack Rudoni was instrumental as the lowly Terriers stunned the visitors with two goals in six first-half minutes, whipping in the corner that led to Matty Pearson's goal before adding a well-taken second himself. A superb chipped finish from Joe Rankin-Costello immediately after the half-time break gave Blackburn hope - and time to rescue something from the game. Rovers saw a tame effort come off the post late on, while keeper Tomas Vaclik made a series of crucial saves for the Terriers before Hedges pounced to level at the end of an absorbing clash. Even then, the point was only rescued when Hedges latched onto the rebound from close range when Vaclik saved a header from Rankin-Costello. Huddersfield are 19th, 2 points above the drop zone. The Swans have played the Tigers on 61 previous occasions, winning 17, drawing 18 and losing 26. In the corresponding fixture last season, the Swans ran out 1-0 winners - the first home win under Russell Martin: Turning to Saturday, I have a feeling that the Terriers will be determined to continue their move away from the relegation zone and will ‘dog out’ a 1-2 win. Thanks Taff. Warnock has certainly got them battling for points so this will be a tough game. Usually we don't do well in these types of games but our confidence should be good so I think we will get a point in a 2-2 draw
They've got the bit between their teeth, so to speak, so this may come down to will and determination, in which case they may edge it. A draw feels like the likely result right now but who knows!
Matthew Donohue will be the referee when Swansea City host Huddersfield Town at the Swansea.com Stadium (3pm kick-off). The Manchester-based official earned three successive promotions which saw him climb from National League North to the National List of Referees between 2016 and 2018. The former primary school teacher first took charge of a Swans match in February 2021 – a 3-2 home defeat to Derby County. Since then he’s taken charge of a further six games. This will be his third Swans this match having overseen two trips to south Yorkshire – a 1-1 draw with Rotherham United on the opening day and a 3-0 defeat to Sheffield United in February. On that day at Bramall Lane, he handed out five yellow cards with Ben Cabango, Nathan Wood and Jay Fulton booked for the Swans. During the current campaign, Donohue has handed out a total of 114 yellow cards and three reds. This weekend, Donohue will be assisted by Paul Hodskinson and Richard Wild. Sunny Singh Gill will be the fourth official.

Clearly, any new shares issued would be priced significantly lower than the Yanks paid for it. So 2 benefits for any investor: a (relatively) low purchase price/share and, (assuming) they are buying newly issued shares, the knowledge that their investment is going into the Club itself - as opposed to the original purchase by the Yanks where they bought existing shares from the then shareholder groups namely Morgan, Jenkins, Davies, John the Clog et al Additionally, should we ever get promoted to the PL (Promised Land ) the opportunity to sell for a significantly higher amount that their investment.
