When I wanted to move to Finland, being an EU citizen didn't mean ****, my data was fine to move around, I needed explicit permission from the Finnish state. Being in the EU doesn't give anyone the right to move to any other country within the Union
EUROPEAN UNION subjects are used to carrying their identification papers as the German National Socialists forced France to present papers at any time , the same with the ex Soviet countries & they could travel to the UK with their Identification cards before Brexit.
For me the issues with the EU is the commission and presidents, so much power to people we have zero control over, 0.0% control and here comes Ukraine, a disaster long before the war, the most corrupt country in Europe (said everyone pre 2022) to join it, a ball and chain around EU citizens necks

I had friends from the Czech Republic & they flew in & out of UK with their EUROPEAN UNION identity cards , that was about 2008
I even heard of a Polish guy travelling on the Eurotunnel his passport expired & they let him travel with a Polish drivers licence . I think they checked on a database or something to verify his identity. We were never part of the Shengen zone & not required to, or used to carrying papers like EUROPEAN UNION subjects. Ursula-von-der-leyen & Tony Blair failed to force them on us
