But letting him go has got a greater return from the no 10 spot over the season. And on today's showing he wouldn't start ahead of Tufan, Slater or Traore in our current setup. Just like he mostly doesn't start for Millwall. He got a respectful ripple of applause today but I didn't miss him nor think he would make us better based on what I saw.
Yep,good post. Honeyman was a very good player for us and it's of no interest to me either how well he fits in at ****ing Millwall!! Never saw today's game so can't comment on what we did right of wrong(or Honeymans lascivious conduct)but we're safe enough now so that's job done and to that end there has been some improvement from the previous numpty...Now let's see what kind of money is available to push on with the owners true aim. Roseniors war chest,Roseniors ideas,Rosenior managing the dead wood clear out...Then he can be judged fairly!!
It’s the age old debate about a player in the past & comparing him to a current player, never works out other than one side or the other & people arguing over who’s right depending on their opinion. On todays performance alone I’d say he’d have started ahead of Pelkas who is simply garbage, if we’d had a manager at the start of the season, end of last, we wouldn’t have signed Pelkas & we’d have kept George. So plenty of things to think about overall, not just today’s performance.
I think you're massively underrating Pelkas generally, he hasn't played a lot in the 10 role and more as an inverted wide player. But if he's on the kind of money I think he is then he hasn't justified it in terms of first team impact.
I haven’t seen anything of Pelkas in any role he’s played to say he’s any good, maybe his position, what he’s been asked to do, I just think he’s overrated overall.
Performances for us vs overall outlay then it's hard to argue. Thought he looked good when he first came in though. Got 2 assists and a goal in his first 900 minutes or so for us. Hasn't really adapted to the physicality of the league - but his rep and regularity of goals/performances internationally suggests he has something. Just hasn't kicked on here.
If I had to take a hunch, and its only a hunch as he's barely played of late, Player 1 seems to me like Ryan Woods. Interesting to see Brewdog have a change of heart from earlier in the season
The 1st half wasn't great today, but I don't think it was anywhere near as bad as Liam made out in his post-match presser. It does feel like something's changed with him, whether that be a bust-up or what but he really came down on some of the lads today. Whether he's waited until we're safe I'm not sure but it's an intriguing change. Think any comments of him being too nice can be put to bed
If it's true someone's questioned his character I can imagine he's probably thought about reacting like this. I thought he was bang on today and he's being protecting some players for a while. Do agree though felt like most games they were ok first 20 but Millwall grew into it then same again second half
Interesting comments on Ebiowei, who was one of our highest rated players in the game, and someone I thought did well while on. Kept his width well but was rarely found by Slater and Seri who instead chose to go back, but when he had the ball had great tight control despite the conditions. Whipped in the ball for Tufan's early chance that he should have done better with, although had a later crossing effort he should have done better with. For people saying he's scared of the wind or whatever the line was, he won 4 of his 5 duels (by contrast Ally won 1 of 6) so not quite sure that comment is accurate. If Rosie didn't like what he saw then fair enough but that surprises me as he's played far worse than that in games this season.
If, as seems to be the comments on here, there has been a bust up at the training ground, I would be very disappointed if the players are dictating who their manager is. I’ve often thought about how players influence how the managers work & the managers move on in a lot of cases to another job. Nowadays the top players don’t need the money & the lower league players don’t have the aura of being a top player. So management is being decided by players who in the future, either don’t need to manage or want to manage, but don’t have that aura to dictate & demand the players. Possibly like Potter & to a lesser extent Rosie. Makes you wonder what Warnock’s threatening his players with to get them kicking.
Huh? It had nothing to do with Howden who I have no 'feud' with. We had one exchange where he called me a parasite - so perhaps he has a feud with me - but otherwise have no issues. Can't recall any other feuds at the moment, although seems as if you're looking to start one with all this sniping? It was an offhand comment as I remember the discussion in the summer about Honeyman going to a worse team despite me and I think a few others suggesting Millwall would be in the promotion hunt ahead of us. Honestly can't remember who it was but a safe guess would be Orange given his penchant to talk about Honeyman at any opportunity.
Injured after about 3 minutes, surprised he carried on as long as he did and performed as well as he did. Clearly tweaked a muscle but worked his way into it.
'scuse me? Oh for ****s sake. Have no issue with honeyman staying or going. We've had a better season with both him and klp gone so we must've done something right on transfers. The howling when he left has made him some sort of demagogue and that's what's ****ing ridiculous. Just give it a rest Mr straw man. I'm not looking for conflict but you have to keep digging dontchya?
It may seem strange but I quite enjoyed the game, though I am one of these geeks that can enjoy a good defensive performance. Clearly, the last 20 minutes of the first half were not to Liam's liking, and credit to him for changing it, and it had the desired effect. A gutsy performance though, and in many ways just as satisfying as a comfortable win, even though a bit more stressful to watch. Ebiowei really is an enigma, and clearly has talent, but I thought in the first half Millwall did watch him closely and gave him little time on the ball. Though his body language doesn't help his cause, as it does appear that he is not trying. LIam moved him over to the left to try and improve his effectiveness but it didn't really help and hence his withdrawal at HT. Greaves is an interesting one, and I am not sure whether he is unsettled or not. It is obvious CB is his preferred position, but with Macca and Jones playing so well, and they were both excellent yesterday, he is not getting a game there. When he first started at LB he was good and looked better than Elder, but yesterday looked out of sorts, and certainly, Elder did a much better job when he came on. It will be interesting to see what happens this summer. Traore is proving to be the player we all hoped he would be, a real class act, and a wonderfully well-taken goal to win it for us. His HT introduction helped change the game. Longman made a real difference when he came on, more effective than Malcolm, and was unlucky with his shot that just missed the target. Pity he got the dead leg, and he certainly bring energy to the proceedings. Slater was very good again, he works his socks off and does a lot of the unnoticed graft needed in midfield. Lastly, Darlow, what a game he had, and proved to be the keeper we hoped he would be, certainly MOTM for me. That win I think dispels any worry about being dragged into a relegation scrap. Very interesting post-match interview with Liam, I felt that he now feels we are actually safe, so now was the time to call some players out, and they will know who they are, as clearly he is now getting an idea who he will keep and who will be shown the door.
Just thought it was an odd thing to bring up, unless linked to recent events on here. I suppose you just wanted to declare that you were right about Millwall's performance this season, and make sure people knew about it.
Another example of the neediness of an arrogant long distance poster! ("The loneliness of the long distance runner.")
