Like it to be a top half side with big crowds/expectations too ideal experience for coming back here but finding a combination of all 3 at a place that guarantees him game time there is difficult
Yeah, I'd like him to go somewhere that is on the up so to speak. Wouldnt want him to go to a relegated club with a negative atmosphere, would prefer somewhere who wants to have a go at the playoffs. Bolton/Derby/Ipswich..... not all of them are coming up.
It fun still to be doing this, given the crucial injuries and recruitment failures... until its mathematically impossible..
On the flip side, if we went up then down again, couple of seasons with parachute payments, would be handy in building a true premier League squad. Not that relegation is ever nice.
Fair enough, I do like the complete transparency we get with Tony like, a loan works best for all parties here
Cannot understand why Lihjadi isnt getting a run out. Mathematically safe from relegation thought he would have given him 20 mins today.
Also shows the 21s and 18s are all part of the long term plan. They have a plan for each one of these young lads. I think Caden Kelly and Harry Gardiner will get decent loans next year as well.
been a strange season with some of our results and the 'unexpected' flirt with the play-offs (not to be written off just yet), the loss of AN, and w/e people say he was doing well with the lads to the surprise announcement of TM that most were non too happy with and now quite happy with him in charge, to those last minute goals against us but still enjoying the football we have seen along the way. if the smoggies lose again tonight i can see them struggling for a play-off slot, never write anything off in football...i just hope next season gives us a better injury record, the lads have done extremely well considering we have spent more games without a recognised first team striker and a 'cobbled' back 4.
Just been to a coaches meeting for the non league team I coach for. A couple watch a lot of our games because I bang on about how good we are. They both said today Hume and Cirkin are years ahead of their age. They also said Neil and Ekwah looked a great partnership. For his second only start in mens football he didnt half do well Ekwah. Get Michut and we have the centre mid poaitions sown up in my opinion. Young Rigg to push them hard, happy days. The enhine room of our team is in great hands. Just to say as well. Gooch is a great lad. Poor last game, better but not great today, but man he never backs off does he. Real desire that lad has for this club.
Only caught about an hr of today's game but thought we played well and showed some great character. We definitely could have held onto the ball better after we took the lead but nerves would have played a part in that after conceding the last minute goal on Friday. Motm for me was Danny Baath, one of the best signings this club has made since I've supported them - he just wins everything and seems to be a great leader. Cirkin was just behind him for me, class player and if we can keep him fit he's going to be huge for us next season. Hat's off to Hume, not many RBs can slot in to CB and deal with it as well as he did. Ekwah looked better, still think a loan move would be best for him next season but again he showed great character to come back from his error the other day to play his best game yet. I thought Gooch was poor in the 2nd half, defensively he was too aggressive - he steps out of his position far too quickly when there is no need to do so. Cant fault his workrate and willingness to get his body in the way of shots/crosses though Our forward players had to do better holding onto the ball when it was played into them last 20 mins - got to learn how to draw in fouls etc 4 points from these 2 games is a good return and still gives us a chance of the playoffs. I'm looking forward to see how we do over these last few games - just great that the pressure is off What a season we have had - in with a chance of the playoffs with 5 games to go with the injuries we have had is an unreal effort.
Good post mate. When this season finishes and the dust settles, I think it's been a ****ing belting season all things considered. Quite possibly one of the best and most enjoyable I've seen tbh, given we have lost our manager, and main striker etc etc. Weve scored goals worthy of the Puskas trophy. It's been bloody brilliant.
when it was asked what we would be happy with this season i said 4th bottom would do me just to be out of div3 was a bonus, figured the young lads would need time 'to grow' but they have all hit the ground running, one or two mistakes along the way obviously but some of the goals have been pure 'premiership class'.
