Lee Howey said that the players think they can get into the playoffs and were disappointed with the result against Hull. So much for wanting a boring end to the season for a change!
I blame Alex Neil for that. At 70 minutes we were fading, you could see players tiring (Pritchard especially) and just needing fresh legs in midfield, but he delayed making subs there until it was too late. It let them build up momentum, his sun's came on after they're pulled one back and took too long to get up to speed in the game. Fresh legs at 75/80 minutes probably help us see it out. But that's in the past.
We played some great stuff today and really should have won by a much bigger margin. However, three points in the bag and still with an outside chance of reaching the play offs.
Let's face it - we are a million miles away from being ready for the PL. Go up with this squad and it could be a record points total in relegation Alternatively, you do a Nottm Forest and rip the heart out of the squad with a load of highly paid, experienced players and gamble on staying up I may get abuse here, but I'm in no rush to get back to the PL until we are strong enough to compete in the way that Brentford and Brighton are doing
I think it's important we finish the season with some momentum to take into next year. Getting Top 8, winning 4 of our last 5 games etc would be marvellous
Possibly reading too much into it but says one centre half available yet we have Anderson on the bench, is he seen as predominantly an under 23 for the time being?
Aye possibly but look at the remaining fixtures, a lot of games vs teams in a similar position or against teams right at the bottom fighting for their survival. It's going to go right to the wire. I'm going to say (based on nothing other than wishful thinking) neither Blackburn or Millwall will finish in the playoff positions. Millwall 62 - Preston (h), Birmingham (h), Wigan (a), Blackpool (a), Blackburn (h) Blackburn 62 - Hull (h), Coventry (h), Preston (a), Burnley (h), Luton (h), Millwall (a) Preston 62 - Millwall (a), Swansea (a), Blackburn (h), Sheff Utd (a), Sunderland (h) Norwich 61 - Boro (a), QPR (a), Swansea (h), West Brom (a), Blackpool (h) Coventry 59 - QPR (a), Blackburn (a), Reading (h), Birmingham (h), Boro (a) Sunderland 58 - Birmingham (h), Huddersfield (h), West Brom (a), Watford (h), Preston (a)
Hope so, one that plays good football as that is his strength from the little I’ve heard of him, still very young as a centre half
The killer fixture is on the last day as you've posted. Milllwall v Blackburn ... ... someone's dropping points and hopefully both.
Aye, it will have to be to the right club who play it out from the back. He can play with the ball but needs to do a few rounds with Andy Carroll imo
Probably a bit early for him but is young Zac Johnson injured. Think he could end up a special player for us.
