No. Robertson touched him and the linesman went to shrug him off. If it was an elbow it was unintentional.
It will be interesting to see what the FA do about the HT incident between the AR and Robertson. Personally, it looked like Robertson grabbed the AR who instinctively swung his arm to get him to let go. So really, Robertson could end up in more hot water than the AR. I do think a new rule needs to be introduced - any contact with a match official other than handshakes is an automatic red card and minimum 4 match ban. It's ridiculous how players treat officials then act all outraged when an official reacts.
I just watched it. I actually agree with Keane. What a baby. Grab someone and when they try to get free you run around playing the victim. Pathetic.
100%. Universal football fans opinion is that players should be instantly yellow carded for having a go at the ref. Same as rugby. I have never met anyone that disagrees with this rule, no matter how many I speak with. It’s only the FA/PL that are behind the times
"The job's yours, Jesse." "Great, great... er... one last thing. I've got a swell new idea for the half-time show..."
Or maybe "The job's yours, Jesse" "Cool, One condition that I have to be Ted Lasso in series 4" #Believe
The one thing the FA have got spot on is introducing the sin bin at grassroots level. It has really cut dissent at that level. Maybe they should introduce it at professional level. Although I did send someone off the other week for calling me a "****ing spastic" simply because I didn't give him a free kick.
I don’t think sin bin is harsh enough at the top level tbh. These are adults at the top of the sport; they should be setting an example to the young folks across the country. Yellows and reds instantly for any abuse and much harsher punishments gamesmanship (such as diving) should be implemented. It would make the game more enjoyable to watch too
