    Why a brand new stadium?

    SJP is one of the largest football club stadiums in the UK with a fairly unique city centre presence in a city where it's the ONLY football club.

    To a sponsor; could it get any better than that?

    Not sure what is the fuss is all about, the Real St James is at Exeter. I would not mind what they called our ground as long as it brought in more money to spend on players

    There is only 1 thing to blame for this (yes Ashley could have done it better but he always does things before he thinks) but thats the Financial Fair Play rules, even Chelsea are thinking of doing it, because long gone are the days when an owner can give a club 100million+ in an interest free loan, buy 5-10 players, and storm up the league, as interest free loans count in the FFP.

    I hate to say this, but i can see our sport turning American, but with brand names after the name of the team, never mind just renaming the stadium. (I think just names after the team is crap for over here, never mind brand names tagged on).

    Its a sad day for football, never mind just Newcastle if you ask me.

    Times like this indeed......... The thing is mackem, that somebody farts at Newcastle and it's front page headlines, makes the news. Something major happens at your insignificant little club and nobody bats an eyelid. The fact that sticks in your scrawny red and white throat is that we're a far bigger club than you. Always have been, always will be. That's why all mackems are bitter, twisted twastards. <ok>

    Well said especially given the fact that Ashley has no right doing this and the council who owns the ground are still saying it is St James Park.
