These are the games Ekwah and Hume (and all the "kids") will learn from. They both made massive mistakes but I'm fairly sure they will both learn from it.
I think they will. Hume has barely put a foot wrong since he joined us, it's amazing how good he's been considering the level he was playing at before he signed. He did make an error but I've seen worse, the ball was 90% out. Same for Ekwah he messed up but it wasn't that bad. Unfortunate for both of them that their mistakes were so costly although presumably that cost will help teach them a lesson.
Agree with every single word mate. I'm sure someone posted somewhere that he thought Hume was over rated and he didn't get why everyone was bigging him up...well I for one think he's been a star for us.
Hume was an undiscovered gem, the club had to dig deep to find him. It's one thing bringing in lads from the PL but they already have some pedigree so aren't as hard to find. If we pick up a couple like Hume every window we'd be one hell of a club. Still think he'll develop into an 'Evans' for us ... ... he's great at full back but slightly wasted there imo.
Good work spotting it's on the Sky red button. A flight down there, from Edinburgh, was £45 but the departure, from Bristol was only around an hour after the game
Huggins has that pace and I think he could be the better full back. Evans is relentless, tackles well, wins headers against bigger players and is learning when to go ahead of the forwards. Our coaching is really bringing on the young players ... ... I've no doubt Hume can develop into PL level.
Hopefully I’ll catch this one but I’m guitar shopping this afternoon!! And, as Mrs Blackcat is not a football fan (and is taking me guitar shopping with her credit card), probably best not to force the issue!!!
My money is on Cirkin if he comes back in. Have a bad track record of “recovered” players getting injured.
I was thinking about this watching the match the other day. He is always 5 yards outside if the box for the headed clearance. It is a clear tactic. He isnt bad in the air either these days, definitely getting better at it, so definitely worth thinking about using him differently I think.
I don't think Hume had too many options once the player got past him, and Ekwah's biggest problem is he is not up to speed, both are valuable members of the squad and need to be involved to-day one way or another imo. This talk of bad mistakes is way over the top and the marks O/9 got from the media were just laughable. Its all about opinions but sometimes it makes you wonder.
A funny thing about Ekwah’s athleticism is it allowed him to get out to the Hull player and foul him. Shame he wasn’t a little slower! Seriously though, he is looking a better player every game.
I understand where your coming from but I seem to recall a Luke Shaw was out for about 3 seasons when he was a youngun. Hopefully if Huggins can be half the player he is we will be a good un.
