Hume is a very good full back, making great progress. As much as I like Roberts he is about as much use defensively as a tin of milk. The fact hume tidies up that side, with minimal support, is a credit to him. Compare Clarke and Roberts in terms of out of play, or transition, and you will see why premier league clubs fancy Clarke. Sounds more critical of Roberts than I mean to be, but it is something he needs to work on. In a 4 2 3 1 he has to graft back or it means our 2 need to split more or the full back is overloaded. Either way it creates a gap to be exploited. Probably the one thing that means he is here and not in the premier league. You can imagine Pep going ballistic about it.
Great shout. but can we afford to buy him, as I doubt Burnley will be loaning players of his calibre, but worth an ask.
Not sure how much he’d cost, imagine wages might be an issue but never know we managed to get Clarke to come down from spurs
I think he will get some minutes this season but will be loaned out next season. Just my opinion like.
Yeah me too Mowbray hinted at that last week too, mentioned he needs to put some muscle on, he is a beanpole like
That twitter account is a gobshite, but I think his lass is ready to pop so there could be some truth in it
I get what has been said about Pritch, but he organised our press at Burnley and was missed in the first half against Hull, this was not lost on Tony judging by his after match comments, so its possible that despite everything else he may revert to Pritch, if so I would also rest Roberts , or even Roberts and Amad and bring them on around the 60 minute mark . This would mean bringing in an extra body in midfield which might not be a bad idea, Gooch , Ba or Ekwah into a three with Dan and Michut would be my choice in a 4/3/3 formation. . .
I think Pritch wil come in for Joffy from the start tomorrow and then Gelhardt will come on from the bench imo.
An old work colleague of mine Dan is injured though. For those not making the long trip - the game is also available on the red button
He needed treatment when they were awarded the penalty on Friday and then limped off as they prepared to take it. Didn't look good so wouldn't be surprised.
I thought Gelhardt had his best game for us on Friday and, apart from his goal, held the ball up much better, so will be very surprised if he doesn't start.
I often think Neil could take a canny set piece. He's got that knack of putting the perfect weight and spin on the ball. He might be good at those close up ones that need a delicate chip over the wall.
Definitely his best game so far - but as with Michut he's still very young and 2 games in four days - he may be rested.
If O’Niens other half is due - he definitely seems the kind that would stay behind the day before but get up early tomorrow morning to drive down as late as he can. Or maybe the club have given him the few days off to relax over it all. Wouldn’t begrudge him
It'll be interesting to see if Ekwah starts, see how much faith Tony has in him. Obviously he cocked it up against Hull but it was a relatively minor error taken as an isolated incident and he should be able to learn from it if he's got intelligence. I'm starting to like the look of him.
